Interesting Thing About Mohammed Siyad Barre
Remember, Siyad Barre was ousted from power in 1991, yet the man lived on for another four years. During these years, he witnessed the disintegration of Somalia, a nation torn to shreds. He saw the fierce battle between General Aidid and Cali Naafto during the four month war. He observed the tragic Rahanweyn famine, exacerbated by Aidid's theft of the humanitarian aid intended for the suffering people. He watched as Somaliland declared its independence, and he witnessed the US-led invasion of Somalia in 1993. Imagine seeing all of this unfold before your eyes; I often wonder what thoughts crossed his mind during those tumultuous times.

MSB aun was in his 90s when he passed away.
He had been ill for some time .
People tell me MSB aun was never the same after a serious car accident.......and that he was not really in controll of the country......similar to Joe Biden .

Muj caydiid did nothing to those eelays. They are just prone to starvation, any time small problem happens , raxanwayn always complains about starvation, it's like they have contract with the WFP gangs.
Macaluusha daarood oo saxare degan dili wayday , ee eelayga dilaysa maxay ahayd. Waa fraud.

Odaygi ina siyaad barre muu xumayn His lataliyaal ba xuma odayga dhagihisa qurjiilaha and ogadeenka waxay ka buuxiyeen guba series of war ceelki danood iyo ceelki caynabo of the 19 century wars. Had empowered isaaq over these lot I think he would have ruled another decade or so . Hawiyaha were nothing and he could have kept them under the thumb
I actually believe the republic could have been saved if Siyad barre handed power over to cumar carte qaalib in 1990

To me what’s interesting is Mengistu/MSB arming each other’s rebel groups. Meles Zenawi was in Mogadishu eating baasto on MSB’s dime, Somalia was propping up Eritrea. MSB’s Gov collapsed January 1991, and Ethiopia only FOUR months later! If Somalia was able to hold out, today you possibly could have had 2 Governments answering to Somalia. Qadar Allah

Afwayne bet the right horse , this afawerki guy is stubborn. The tigrays had no option but to let him take Eritrea. Mingiste was a dog , he tried to kick us out of Ethiopia in 1988 pleasing afwayne just to safe his skin.Murax wrote: Sat Sep 14, 2024 5:08 am To me what’s interesting is Mengistu/MSB arming each other’s rebel groups.
