yeah, I agree. If this new government takes flight, every single Mareexaan's monthly income should be deducted and used to repay the national debt.

Isaaqs should repay their share too.

I was listening to Canadian radio show and they were talking about Quebec separating from Canada. One of the topics they discussed was the share of repayment for the National debt. Quebec has to pay their share, why shouldn't Somaliland?

Hello. Quebec wasn't bombed and had all of its major infrastructure destroyed. Quebec didn't lose over 60,000. Somaliland did.

Actualy ppl don't know, but it was Harti who skimmed the most of the world bank funds. Even Galeyr ran to America after he diverted a plane load of dollars to Dubai to deposit into his account.

The question should be " Somalis's debt" not Siyad's debt.

Although every THUG took his share in that money, but it is in the necks of every Somali.

This is the kind of talk that some people think they are making the history on their own hands. Tell me guys one Minister who was not a thug?? I happen to know two of all the ministries from of all the tribes who did not participate in the loothing. Shocked

If Siyad Barre and Mareexans were the thugs then who is doing all these unspeakable looting to our country? Even the children are being sold for their organs. Sad I am sure some of you will jump to the conclusion that I am Mareexaan. I am not. But let us not hide the truth. Mareexaan or No mareexaan. Waar nimankaasi waxbayba reebi jireen. Laughing

Stop blaming each other and try to live like normal people. Twisted Evil

You are right, Somalia (Late Barre) owes few U.S$ billions to foreign institutions and the rule of thump is any government that is formed have a responsibility to pay those debts. Even if Somaliland is recognised, by law they have to pay their share of the loans. Given that wer are a poor nation and destroyed all our infrastructures, I think the debt will be cancelled.

Kambuli,

I agree we shouldn't blame Barre clan for somalia's debts. I wasn't. I hold Barre and his cronies directly responsible for those debts. Remember he was UNELELCTED dictator and some of the money he borrowed didn't see the light of day!

Law26,

I too think the debts will be canceled. But how much do we owe, any1 know?
