The good and the bad of Somali websites
Which Somali website you consider to be the best or frantically the worst? Including sites from "The self proclaimed state of s/l (North West region)†and the ex-French controlled Somali region.
Some people consider like my self, these ever increasing Somali websites only serve to fuel the dilemma, anarchy, and tribalism in Somalia. They have no benefit to society and should be banned all together.
But are there any exceptions like Somalinet or Islamic sites? I leave you to decide.
This is a play ground for the intellectuals (only). plz NO kidz

Freedom of speech is very important to me and I would be very disappointed if any these aforementioned Somali websites are closed down as you're advocating on the grounds that 'they're not useful to the community' save if they're inciting criminal behaviors.
I am quite humble that Somalis have designed and running a plethora of websites, you would be hard pressed to see another African community that has embraced this new technology like Somalis. It's magnificent development and long may it continue.
I am handicapped unlike most here that I am af-somali challenged and couldn't read and right our language to save my life and I am ashamed of that fact and I hope I rectify this sorry of state of affairs in the not distant future Allah willing.
It's fairly clear to anyone with a bit of intelligence that some of these sites serve political, religious or regional tool. The people who run these website have decided to do this in their infinite wisdom and I dont think we can question their judgment on this.
I say (and I could be wrong, not the first time I hasten to add), let them enjoy their freedom of speech.
Kind Regards
Freedom of speech
Those, in the western world who magnify and claim to value free speech, came to recognize the significance of regulating the media information and setting up boundaries. Consequence of prosecuting the media companies for misinforming the public. (Indisputably media is used in the west as a propaganda tool in the wickedest fashion).
Unlike unregulated most Somali media where it largely favours to support certain function, tribe or warlord while discriminating others (war of wards). Contributes mayhem, chaos and completely demolishes any hope of reconciliation.
Perhaps there are two ways to this argument, the good and the bad. In my view, evaluating the advantages of the technology advancement, in the other hand resulted unexpected complications and greater problems.
In addition, the crucial question must be asked, when will the Somali tribal + media learn to co-exist, respect each other as Human beings, Muslims, and fellow country men.
Allah Knows Best.
apart from the godless-wisdom of fanatic atheist, its fare to say snet is the best somali site.
Fanatic atheists? Have you ever encountered an atheist demanding that the head of his opponent be decapitated because he dares to express a different viewpoint about the true nature of the world? Have you ever met an atheist who demands that women be forced to wear the Hijab? Have you ever come across an atheist who advocates that freedom of speech be censored (like our Salafi friend above) on the grounds that he doesn't like what he hears?
I THINK NOT!
I'm no atheist, but I do profess agnosticism; and the only crime atheists, agnostics and the like are guilty of, is to put forth a more rational and enlightened outlook based on facts and empirical evidence rather than attributing every matter to supernatural causes that aren't based on verifible empirical evidence. It is you who is the fanatic sir, not us freethinkers.
You're right as regards SNet being a cool website however. SNet sooooo rocks!
