Lord Diplock is one of the most significant English judges in the last 100 yrs or so along with the likes of Lord Denning, Scarman.

There courts in Northern Ireland that are named after him: 'Diplock's courts', these are courts where allege paramilitary members are put on trial without juries. The Conservative gov't of Lady Thatcher asked the learned judge to set them up in the hight of the IRA bombing in England.

I am a law student and that is why I use the name 'Lord Diplock', his lordship has passed away a while back.
