Q2 Salafi-Student

Salaams Sis

Gathering from your nick your salafi right? So do you mind explaining if you can, why the so-called 'New-Salafi's' believe that during nikah it is not wajib upon a woman to have a 'wali'?

I find it very interesting to hear this new reformed group question texts and sources which strongly point that its wajib, amazing really.

asalamu aleikum sis.

1) I'm not a sister, I'm your brother in Islam..

2) There is no such thing called New salafi group and if they exist I free my self from them.

3) Wali is wajib in nikkah!

Narrated by Abee Musaa that the Prophet (saw) said: “there is no Nikkah except (permission/presence) of a wali” Reported by Ahmed and others.

Aisha (ra) narrated that prophet (saw) said: “any women who gets married with out a wali her marriage is Batil (unaccepted) ….” Reported in Ahmed, Aboo Da’ud, Ibnu Maajah, At-tirmidi- (Hadith Hasan)

Brother, I disagree with your opinions. Only Allah can make things Xaraam and not humans. We have enough knowledge to argue that a Muslim or a Muslimah have all the rights to reject their own parent's advice when it comes to their objections in marrying a good Muslim person. This was enacted to counter all patrichical cultural customs like Somalis, saudis and so on, whom favour tribal and other inducements.

mowhawk,

awali is a must in order for a marriage to be legal in islam. Allah knows best

"We have enough knowledge to argue that a Muslim or a Muslimah have all the rights to reject their own parent's advice when it comes to their objections in marrying a good Muslim person"

yeah you are definately right but the gal still needs a wali bro in it?. according to my little knowledge an what i learnt from the sheikhs, an imam/khadi becomes the wali for the muslimah under such circumstances.. that was the point of the salfi brother i think.

Sorry bro. I see your from London, and you say you've never heard of this 'new salafi' group, thats strange because one of its main mosques located in London are part of this reformed group and the iman there believes that a woman doesnt need a wali in presence of their nikah. Odd really. Anyhow, thanks for replying.

Mowhawk???No were not talking about rights to reject your parents recommendation, but as mm said your right in your point made.

Muslimman, no your right and this new reformed group believe otherwise--Subhannallah pretty amazing revelation we have here.

Amat Allah care to give a reference for your claim? I would be interested in following it up. It is indeed strange that any sheikh would overlook clear hadith in favor of their opinion. If anything salafis are accused of being literalist so something clearly doesn’t jive here

Well you could say my reference is secondary. You see this 'new-salafi' group or as their well know to be 'Salafi Jadeed' can be found in London,Brixton if you live nearby i'd suggest you drop by and ask the iman there, who is a pretty strong believer of this new idea.(Dont ask me how i know, but i do, so please trust me on it lol). But your completly right, how can a literalist group overlook Sahih Hadiths, its not part of their credence. And i also heard they hate Sayd Qutb, and for all those who see themselves as part of Ahul Sunnah Wa Jammaca should distant temselves from these groups(so i hear) . I was also asked to read this link, i think you might very interesting JB;

http://www.thewahhabimyth.com/files/thewahhabimyth.pdf

But im looking into this group, seems really interesting

Asalamu Aleikum;

I was a regular visitor in Brixton mosque before i've moved from London and i never come across a group called “Salafi Jadid” <<- plz tell more about them if you can!

regarding the Imam i think his fully aware of that particular Hadith (of the Wali) as i think he is a quite knowledgeable brother and I wouldn't imaging for him to disregard the importance of a Wali -but I'll confirm it with him for my next visit to the mosque Insha Allah..

Assalam Alaikom warhmtullah Wbaraktuh

Nikax without Wali is Badel Badel Badel (not valid) Qala Rasool Ellah Moxamed Sall'Allau'calahy'wasalm Exclamation

Know this for a fact brothers and sisters some muslims calls them selves salafis but in real life they are not cuz they are doing much errors that is not from Quran and Sunnah ..

some muslims dosest understand the meaning of salafi.. I mean we All say we are muslims but dose that clear out what type of a muslim we are, if we are Ahulul bidca, tabliqi, shiici, Axmaddyaah, sufis ect ect.. it is not enugh now a days to say 'I am a muslim'.. you have to know what is the caqiida of ur sheeikh so he wont give you false info about the Sunnah or wrong tafsir of the Quran..

salafi simply means the follwers of the Salaf as-salix (the Early salaf and the saxaba, the khalifas)
