Do you find this logical?

Post by Lord Diplock »

Hamas has just won the mandate to govern in a democratically held elections, they held no one to ransom or did anything illegal, but we still dont like the result of this election. We shall accept the result but with some conditions: a, u have to change your constitution and accept Israel's right to exist b, disband your armed wing.

I just watched a topical programme on BBC television where by one of the panelist (a brilliant woman who I suspect despise Tony Blair and his new Labour party with passion judging by her strong attack on him) demolished this argument quite cogently. She stated that, this is the way democracy works, ppl will vote for what they believe in regardless of what the US or the British gov'ts think is right or wants.

The main thrust of their argument against Hamas is the old one I guess. What they call the 'Rule of Law' theory. in this, they mean, you might win a democratic held elections, but u still have to respect the law, both internationally and nationally and in the case of Hamas, u should not support any form of violence whatever. what about the zionist state extra-judicial killings of it's opponent?

I think this election results will be a wake up call to the leaders of the so-called western world. Whether u like it or not, election in the Islamic world will bring into power Islamic parties. Parties that are not swayed by money and the thirst for power for individual rewards, but to see real justice prevail and the poor and the dispossed are not left behind as capitalist do.

Well done Hamas for exposing and ultimating defeating those corrupt parties that have long betrayed the ppl of Palestine.
