Somali Business People ONLY: How can u maintain a Halal Biz

If you are a small business owner in the West, it is hard to maintain Islamically friendly businesses.

For example, it is hard to own a food franchise due to being forced to sell pork foods. So u can't really get a Quiznos or Subways franchise !

Another dilemma concerns financing. It is hard to get riba-free loans. U are also forced to accept credit cards which amount to promotion of riba. If you a Puritan Moslem, you can't really own a restaraunt that doesn't segragate the sex.es nor own a hotel/motel.

So how can one maintain a halal business ? Don't mention money reimmentances like DAHABSHIIL because they also promote riba (cloaked as fees). I mean how can Bank of AMerica charge me $45 to send up to 10,000 overseas while Dahabshiil wants $6 for every hundred (totalling $600).

As a ba honor busines management graduator then should know that you have to know what kind of business are you interesting and where the main people are living into, then to open up your business, if you do not understand free to reply for more answers.

There is a fair-sized Yemeni community here in Oakland going back more than 30 years.

Early on they were nearly all convenience-store operators. With the growth of the Muslim community here, they have moved into Halal meat markets. Except for a few checks, these are run as cash businesses.

One partnership of three cousins that I know had the cash several years ago to buy a 7-11 franchise on one of the main drags. It's a regular cash cow.

It is your choice to live in a culture and society that subscribes to believes contrary to yours and itÃ¢Â€Â™s your choice to look lost if you can't adapt to their social norms. You can live in the west while keeping your culture in tact. I know tons of muslims who own perfectly Halal businesses. The only problem is with businesses that offer food/drin/entertainment.
