I agree, the violence and destruction of embassies is not right. But you have to understand this is an extremely emotional issue for Muslims who love their Prophet (scw) more than they love their ownselves.
U have to participate in the boycotts. It's the only rational thing AND IT'S WORKING...Arla foods is already laying off people and losing $1.5 million a day. they are closing plants and eveyrthing.

No i dont think muslims overreacted..infact i think they underreacted because the only countries that held a protest thats to my knowledge is Syria,Lebanon,Iran, afghanistaan, new zealand( yes nz), india, pakistan, indonesia, france, denmark, and england ..yeah thats about it..note i could be wrong.
surprisingly i heard nothing from the continent of africa,
Its good that Muslims reacted this way because i know from now on the western media wont be doing anything that will offend the mainstream muslims..and dont give that bullshit that that the people protesting were only the radical muslims and not the mainstream muslims..its every muslims duty to protect the good name of our beloved prophet muhammad sala Allahu Alleyhi Wa Salam and if anyone stands there like hilib with noo dhiig while their prophet is being insulted is to a non-muslim. Because its in our conscience to react angrily if any ignorant moron insults our religion. And to all my Muslim brothers out ther keep up the burning of their damned flag so we can show this Crusaders how united we are.

This must be the only discussion in this forum worth reading and putting some efford into it...
One thing we need to understand about this affair is that there is a political side to the protests from the Middle East and some groups are using this to put farword their ideas and using violance as a mean...that is something we as, other practicing Muslims should not stand behind. Now I think it is a great idea to boycott danish goods because one think the western world understands is money and this makes it even more clearer that peopele 'over there' are consumers just as much as the people living in West. I believe that Europeans are so shocked by this whole affair because they have not grasped the meaning of the processes of globalization that they strongly advocade... I hope this leads to that Europeans understand that people in the third world are not just aid takers but also consumers in this globalised world that we are living in and whaterever that happens 'here' in Europe impacts on people living in other places and whatever happens 'over there' certainly effects people in Europe...

I agree with SanQalooc, we actually underacted and as long as we have the likes of Achilles and Abaay in our midst, it's imperative we double our efforts to fill the gaps they left.
Achilles and Abaay,
How on earth did you come to the conclusion that when you get slapped, you turn the other cheek for more slaps? Don't you have any sense of dignity? Doesn't what happened touched you in any way, shape or form? Don't you know this step was their litmus test paper and once you let it slide, more will come until you are reduced to nothing?
Lemme ask you one question.
How much do you love your prophet (SAW) (if you are Muslims?) Why doesn't it hurt you when he was insulted that much? As long as you call yourself Muslim, this was meant for you as much as it was meant for your prophet (SAW) whether you realize it or not

salaamacaleykum....
I thought I made myself very clear where I stand in this matter...sir lugooyo and others, you have completely missunderstood what I wrote....I said that I believe it is great idea to boycott danish and other european countries goods so that the message and our reactions, as muslims, to these offensive acts gets to the western countries as economic loss is something they very well understand and recpect ....more than emotional outbursts......
However I don't believe in violance, i dont believe in burning down embassies....I believe by doing that you are just providing them with more ammunition...
Incase there is any doubt...I'm muslim allhumdulilah and very proud to be a muslim, I love our prophet (scw) and any offensive acts diracted towards him is also directed to me.....
Someone else in here made the comment that if it was not for the Europeans third world countries would not be in the mess they are in today...and I totaly agree with that. But my question is this...when are we Africans going to start holding our governments and those controlling all our assets accountable for their missbehaviours??
Abaay

cajiiib some ppl worries about muslims burning down embassies. Who cares ===========> Why would it matter to them when far worse things are taking place look at our sister getting rapped evey day all day or our children getting killed And molested and or men and the list is long ..
I do not see some muslims making such a big deal out of it. Like ""OH MAY ALLAH a muslim kid baa maanta la dilay oo Hooyadiis iyo walaashis 4 jirta ah baa lagu hor xoogay "". But when a kaafirs embassy is burring down oh you better watch out now..
Nifaaq is great in some muslim isku sheeg Al Faatixa uu akhriya .. as they are good for nothing as the "some" dead Ppl..
Kaafirs are greeting Muslims with bullets and booms and some muslims want us to greet them back with a smile and a salaam ..how ironic..

abaay got a point in that remember this is the work of satan of both ways we should use oure brains instead of burning down embassies you dont reach any shit what can they do to prophet muhammed(saw) with that nothing they also badmouthed him and even attacked him but you think he cared about that ore spread hatred ore djihaad no he just forgived them and remember when many kafiirs where beeing captured in battle and where beeing putted in the jail during that time ppl had hunger and even than they gived their food to the their enemies the kafiirs thought like huh how can you give food to me when im youre enemy the followers of prophet muhammed(Saw) said we did that in order of oure prophet the kafiirs turned in to the islam we should use oure brains instead of doing things like that the why didnt they protested when iraq and afghanistan where beeing invaded why didnt they protested when the qoran and innocent muslims where beeing abused in the abu chraib jail why suddenly now i think if prophet muhamed(Saw) was here he should be mad on the oemmah rather than what the cartoonmakers did i think it was an test of allah and the satan did his work but the muslims forgot who they are and forgot the what prophet muhammed (saw) learned us be prepared the muslims will suffer in pain especally when the third world war brokes out and if we dont use oure brains than i fear the most for us i do understand that propagandas makes us to hard to see things but remember that goverment ties is really why the goverment lies read it youre self instead youre asking the goverment why cuss than the cause of death will cause the propaganda to die

the cartoons were horrible and disgracfull to Islam, these Europeans have taken away what made us so different from all the other religious. islam is named after or based in somone or something, such as christianity who is named after christ and judiasm after a place in jerusalem, by depicting a picture of the prophet they have now made an image which as been un-known to islam for centuries, but by responding in a violent way we only make our selves seem more violent and harsh, but if we were to use speech, language, and our brians, we would have gotten far. we should fight back verbally as they have, but only attack when attacked.

SanQ as much as your intensions are sincere and understandable, can i ask you to draw back during the Prophet(pbuh) time when he was going through constant physical and verbal torment, he refrained from violence until he had the right to be ‘heard’. Now thats the key word here walaal, he could have swipped them down--then what? You see sabr(patience) can do masses for a cause, especially in the light and context of our beloved Prophets time.

What? Sis your talking nonsence here, no practising muslim in their rigth mind would want to sit back and see our Prophet be defamed. As Abaay mentioned, the achilles heel for non-muslims is MONEY. So boycotting would be a great idea. But what would you suggest contray to that, eye for an eye, kill their innocent because we are suffering by the same method. Come on be real here, thats purley unislamic. So you come up with some better-islamic ideas, id lve to see what your approach would be.

''As for the reaction; it's grossly exaggerated. The group or institution that allowed the publishing of these caricatures should be held responsible. Setting fire to embassies and attacking people who have no role in the situation doesn't make sense unless you believe in the end justifies the means crap. And abaaya is right, there really is a political element to this whole thing. There is a political context. This is more than JUST a religious affront.''
Brother muslims governments are being accused of being paternal. And so right we should. Our Prophet(pbuh) was insulted and its our duty as decent practising muslims to put a stop to this, and if that means enforcing embargo's and sending out a strong message from the pulpit that we collectively are not going to stand for this then am all for it. Im aware of the political context you aformentioned, but im sure using all means possible whether it be politically, economically to transmit the message that respect is paramount if they want to learn how to successfully live cohesively in the age of globalisation and tolerance, inorder to effectively coexist together inshAllah
