Salaam,
It is believed that a country, a community or a nation state does not exist until it has written down its history, thoughts and conducts, that is written books about it self. It is not enough to write the books though, the books need to be read as well...talked about...used and reused...
Now hands up..how many of you have read somali books written in Somali??
Let us start with me..I'm very ashamed of my self to say that I, even though I'm fluent in Somali, have only read a one single book...
'Maana Fay'... and that was for a project...as I said before..very ashamed...now I do understand that there is limited accessibility of Somali books..but is that enough excuse???
would love to hear your thoughts about that guys...
