If she went through gudniin, she will explain the XYZ of the operation. If she did not undergo Gudniin, she will explain, my mother said no or I ran away blah, blah, blah.

I don't think it has to do with campaign against fgm.
They talk about gudniin in foreign forums, seminars and places that no somalis frequent.

One was Afro Canadian, two Afro Caribbean and the fourth, a Somali. Needless to say, the Somali woman segment adressed the FGM issue, and this particular woman's desire to have it done, but her mother forbade it, and now she's thankful. First of all one has to understand that this is a very sensitive issue and as it seems non of you are educated enough about the fact that it happens out here in the west. The women who raise this issue and bring it to the public' s attention are indeed very brave because they are going against our rigid cultural beliefs at least give them credit for that. The gudniin that' s practised in Somalia occurs in many western countries aswell. Covering up this barbaric custom won' t help so I support those females who discuss this effectively, raise the issue of FGM and are actually ready to fight it with educating the upcoming generation!.
