Fighting Flares up in Mogadiscio
This seems to never stop. Who is fighting who?

"Abdullahi Shirwa, a member of Civil Society in Action, an umbrella organisation made up of over 12 groups in Mogadishu, said "what started out as a fight between two cousins had become a more dangerous conflict involving Islamic courts and the new alliance".

The Death toll continues and the fighting is spreading all over Mogadiscio, and it seems that neither of those groups care about the civilian casualties, just like the Americans consider it, civilians die because of collateral damage. In my opinion, this is a typical Somali warlordism.
"60 killed as fighting spreads in Mogadishu"

This is crazy.

Assalamu calaykum,
Members of somalinet the fighting is between different warlords for control of resources. This sort of fighting is common in other areas; Geeljires fight over pasture; farmers over land.
Despite the deaths many parts of Muqdisho remain calm. He/she who who thinks it is hawiyas killing each other is deeply mistaken, misinformed and most importantly tribalistic. Muqdisho is a large city, with almost one in every 2 somalis living there. The law of numbers states that the more people that live in area the more conflicts, the more prosperity, the more ilbaxnimo etc.
The fighting has everything to do with the so called peace process and the selection of the warlord as a president and the division of power based on who killed the most or plans to kills the most. There is also an element of "fighting terrorism".
Instead of rejoicing why don't you people pray?

Xplosive, the word fighting terrorism has become a catch phrase if you want military. The warlords in Somalia are very innovative and quick to take ideas and commercialise them. Many saw the opportunity of the century. The president is using this term.
But I strongly hope that the world leaders see this as a bluff.
I am also aware that many members of somalinet are bitter about Muqdisho. They would jump on the first train of condemnation and bad news reporting from Muqdisho.

Both my grandfather and brother in law are in mogadishu. One wanted to leave precisely today, however he can't because the airport is closed. My gradfather who wanted to sell his land who resides in yemen is kinda screwed. He can't sell land because these niggas are shooting all over. I fear for his life and safety.
Caydiid, you have to be habr gidr to think hamar is perfect. My brother in law couldn't go to xamar because the airports were closed several weeks back because of dagaal and now he can;t leave because the airport is closed for fear of being shoot by anti aircraft artillery. He's reer mogadishu and he won't lie to me when inshallah he arrives back about the situation back there.

I view Muqdishu to be the nerve, heart and blood of Somalia. If there ain't peace in Mogadiscio the rest of Somalia suffers. It is in every damn news bulletin and their sources are Somalis, doctors and others, and we are here to discuss the Mogadiscio chaos in a Somali site, if it is too sensitivite for you, then tough luck saaxib.
You can sugar coat and spin the situation as you may like, but let us be real for once on what is happening there, otherwise we may as well blame the continous deaths and destruction of Somali civilians in Mogadiscio on the Israelis.

I think this is the concept of the current war in Mogadishu.
Hitler once said: "If men wish to live, then they are forced to kill others. The entire struggle is a conquest of the means of existence which in turn results in the elimination of others from these same sources of subsistence. As long as there are people on this earth, there will be nations (tribes) against nations (tribes)…….â€Â.
This is how evil it can get!
May Allah guide our fellow Muslims - Amiin.
