dont you feel like that the war is forcing people to favor Abdullaahi Yusuf?..... how can you support someone who continously wages war?..... I wonder how Habr Gdir sustains supporting their warlords who just love to wage war.... I believe that the people in Mogadishu should just favor Abdullaahi Yusuf's government.. f*ck it, lets support that government!!!

Homer how would love the person responsible for the havoc???? This is what he wanted; deaths in Mqudisho so that he would be loved.
The fighting in muqdisho is for control of the harbour. It is between people of the same sub clan. There would be a winner soon if Yusuf and his supporters don't inflame it.

Mr Hommer, I vividly remember it was almost two years ago when I was in my friend house watching a crowd of jubilant Somalis in the evening television news jumping with utter excitements in the streets of Nairobi, Kenya as the initial agreement that led to subsequent formation of transition government was reached.
Two years of the shear excitements and jubilant crowd that I saw on BBC television has given way to overwhelming disappointments. Abdullahi Yussuf’s government has proved to be nothing but just another farce of mounting political disappointments that the Somalis masses have unfortunately got well acquainted with. I must admit although I haven’t had the privilege to have born in and live in Somalia, hence my username; but just like any other Somalis I greeted the news initially with a sense of relief and brief apprehension of jubilation that finally Somalia has got a government and the process of political and tribal reconciliation and the rebuilding the shattered country will at last be underway to recover the country from brink of self extinction.
To my horror the optimisms that I and many other Somalis shared initially throughout the globe was short lived when typical pattern of Somalia’s tribal politics emerged, it was a matter of days when my hope and that of many of my countrymen were dashed, this time by marauding Somali parliamentary elders wielding sticks (Bakoraat) in their opposition against the proposed deployment of Ethiopian troops by Mr. Abdullahi Yussuf in responds to such proposal most of the MPS lost their sanity and sort to expressed themselves through violence under the spotlight of international media; making a mockery of the progressed made and giving talk show hosts across the globe something to giggle about.
Although I do not condone violence in any form or shape and also the despicable behavior of the Somalis elders and Mps alike, but in my view President Abdullahi Yussuf should blame no one but the marriage of convenience he has forged with Prime Minister Males Zenawi of Ethiopia, we all know the level of hate, political distrust and not to mention heightening level of animosity that has been the focal point of relationship between the two countries.
The relationship of the these two nations has been marred by history of violence and series of bloodlettings, I am certain that having been a Colonel himself in the former Somali army and once fought against the Ethiopian regime of Mingustu Haile Mariam; President Abdullahi Yussuf would have definitely knew the extent of political turmoil his proposal and the subsequent request to deployed the Ethiopian troops under the auspicious of IGAD mandate to disarm the warring parties would have bring or generated, but nevertheless he chosen to proceed and remain oblivious to the political history of both two nations.
Now my question is why would he go to such extent to deploy the Ethiopia’s troops against the will of the majority Somalis except from certain portion of the population mostly from his tribe or clan? After careful thought I am compel to conclude with this bold assumption; is my belief that Abdullahi yussuf proposal to deployed our arch enemy’s army was not the result of political spell from the Ethiopians or that of his deteriorating second hand liver rejecting his somewhat aging body, but his proposal was a mere product of imprudent political calculations, he sort to gain military manpower to secure and sustain his despised government once it arrives in Mogadishu from the warring warlords opposed to him, thanks to his lack of sense charisma, political experience and basic intelligence he has instead achieved completely the opposite to his objective by managing to unite the majority of Somalia’s warlords which has been unheard-off in the history of the civilwar.
I must admit there is no avenue for Mr. Abdullahi Yussuf to rehabilitate his dying career politically, he has lost the political support he has enjoyed during the initials days of the formation of his government in Nairobi, Kenya; but I may add he does still have chance to attain the little integrity left in his somewhat delusional character by at least rescue his government from eroding recognition from the majority of Somalis not to mention the pending humiliations should he persist with his repugnant political stance; I’m afraid this entails him quitting the presidency immediately and politics all together in doing so these move should grant him the necessary time to rest and cater to his failing health by at least renegotiating the fast expiring “terms of contract†with his ill-disciplined and very rebellious liver that he has extracted from dead corpse somewhere in so called “Puntlandâ€Â.

gurey ur view is too narrow, almost like a warlord will say "speak 4 urself i got rich off the war it must be good"
to say even we are almost where we were when we had a government 20-30 yrs ago means it was a backwards steps
maybe u dont care about the millions dead 4 their sake it was not worth it......the poison in the country and all that humiliation
http://www.somaliweyn.com/pages/poems/M ... mars7.html
and if ethiopia was not scared to embarrass & expose s-land they would make taalo for snm in addis......but they will wait for ur so called recognition b4 they hand u that slap in the face....b/c then they know the destruction of somalia & somalis is irreversible
there was never excuse to go to our neighbor enemy to let them help u destroy your nation. NEVER.
ETHIOPIA'S wiilingless to help u should have been a sign of their intentions
ok but forget that past history, the best way we could get revenge from them after the civil was to forgive and unite again and foil their plots instead dadkaada ba cuqdad ku sii rideesaa about other somalis......marka congratulations to those who sold their country, unity, and brotherhood to help ethiopia sleep at night for a cheap & weak somalia............somalia or sland or whatever future leaders will be known now as dhillooyiin amxaaro

we are back to 1960 becuase nothing new was built byt the somali state
after 1960 int he north.
All resources were directed towards, moqadishu.
No new developements where carried out in the north, except for the expansion of Berbera port and airport, and that was done for the Soviet millitary not the people.
What the airforce destroyed in hargeisa and burco was the infrastructure left by the british.
So when we say we are almost back to 1960, iam talking about the qaulity of the schools, and hospitals etc.

Ethiopia scared ?Embarrased?.
as far as they are concerned somalia is already destroyed.
and the relationship between ethiopia and Somaliland is based on common interest, like most relationships are.

stop moaning about the demise of your dynasties illegal rule,
its not comming back.
and stop the nationalist fascade, this is about nostalgia for your days in power.
The greatest example of Somali Nationalism was when the people of somaliland went against the advise of the british and forced and rushing their way towards unconditional unity with thier brothers in the south.
Without thought to the future. Sacrificing your sovrienty for unity is the greatest example of nationalism.

and relax man, this is not about cuqdad,
im just reminding you of another point of view.
and somalia is not a millitary threat to Somaliland, at least not for the forseable future, on the other hand there is not much trade nor any political links.
You can do us no harm and no good either.
So when we express interest in the affairs of the rest of somalia,
we do becuase of our concern for our fellow somali brothers,
not becuase of any somaliland agenda.

Re: would we LOVE Abdulahi Yusuf because of this war?
ahooooooooooooooo abdulahi like the fox he try too be clever he know anything
I supported every effort of reconciliation. From Ali Mahdi, AbdiQaasim, to Abdullaahi Yusuf.
Those Mogadishu warlords aborted the people’s anticipations.
Jinni ninkii keenaa bixiyee. They were asked to be the leaders of the country. (a bad idea if you ask me). (It's kind of bribing them)
Bahal caydhiin ma daayo, ninna caadadii ma baajo. They didn’t change into good leaders.
Abdullahi Yusuf was one of those who brought AbdiQasims’ government down. But I don’t see any mistakes he made after his election in Nairobi.
He had right not to go Mogadishu. It is full of conflicts and violence.
AbdiQasim had advice to go to Baidoa and make it a temporary capital, but he didn’t. Look how they failed him.
Calling foreign troops is also not Abdullahi’s mistake. However, the ultimate decision is for the parliament. They dicide where the peacekeeprs should come from.
Somalians will not handover their weapons to other Somalians. We need to be assisted in order to disarm and build a nations police force, courts, and military.
I don’t have to love Abdullahi Yusuf. He is just a coordinator. He can’t do any thing without the support of the MP’s and all of us.
You can correct me if I’m mistaken.
