Do you guys consider us (Reer Xamar) to be Somali?

A lot has been said about the authenticity of our Somaliness, be it based on sheer ignorance or denial but some of ya took us out of the Somali circle, and I don't know what your motivation is.

If you consider us Somali, then is all good

If you don't consider us Somali, then why not?

you speak the language right?

you believe in islam right?

you know the culture right?

Of course, You guys speak the part. The real question that you should be asking yourselves is, Do you consider yourself Somali ? Dispute what others think.

Thank you guys and to answer Nurudin, yes, I do consider myself Somali, I share everything with Somalis except Geel and I am proud to say I am Somali.

Hmm...

The other day, I had couple of Somali girls on the bus with me, they were talking about me, thinking that I was an Arab or a turk, I didn't say anything to them until my stop approached and I was about to get off, then I said to them in Somali, "Haye, walaaloyaal ma inta baa soo dagteen?" Laughing

I swear they were about to die. Anyway, the point is no matter what other Somalis think, the color of someoneÃ¢Â€Â™s skin or accent does not make them any less Somali and to be frank I can care less about what they think, As an ashraaf, my people have history and identity with somalia and nothing can change that, case closed.

Most reer xamars I met were jareers but they never shied away from claiming to be european descendents. I don't know if I consider them somali. They lack that proud somali attitude and they talk too much like girls. I don't know man, I have hard time considering non-daroods as somali as it is.

I've only met like two of you in my entire life. I dont know jack shit about Cad Cad's to tell you the truth. But if u feel and think like Surria then you are definately as Somali as anyone in my book.

Of course, I see cadcads 100% somali. They have same language, religion and culture. They were born there so why not? They have funniest somali dialect I've heard plus so beautiful girls. I need to find somali cadcad to my second wife
