the same year 1971 he accused General Ainanche and Colonel Gaveire conspiring assassination of the president and were executed , that was beginning of Afwaynas ticking bomb in SOMALIA at 1-23-1975 Ten Islamic sheikhs who had publicly opposed his policies of given equal rights to women were summarily executed .

faced with shrinking popularity he skillfully exploited dividing the Somalis along Clan lines , in 1977 after months of clashes between Ethiopian army and Western Somali liberation front , Somali troops invaded Ogaden region of Ethiopia but the Somali forces were pushed out of Ogaden with the help of advisers and CUBAN troops helping the Ethiopian ,3-9-1978 Afwayne announced withdrawal of the all Somali forces Ogaden , The lost of the war produced a National mood of depression , a group of disgruntled army officers mainly ( Majeerteen ) attempted a coup d'etat against Jaalle Afwayne in April 1978 , the Coup failed and seventeen alleged ringleaders were executed , One of plotters Liutenant colonel Abdulahi yusuf escaped to Ethiopia and founded anti-Afwayne regime SSDF . because of fear of domestic resistances General Afwayne unleashed a reign of terror agaist the Majeerteen the Isaaq and The Hawiye out by the Red Berets ( DUUB CAS) ,.

PERSECUTION of Majeerteen
Afwayne singled out the Majeerteen civilians for reprisals ordering his Red Berets systematically killing thousands of innocent civilians , slaughtering their livestock and poisoning all water wells in addition raped large number of Majeerteen women , in May and June 1979 more than 2,000 Omar Mahamud civilians lineage of Colonel Yusuf were murdered and lost estimated 50,000 Camels 10,000 cattle and 100,000 sheeps and goats .

Oppression Of The ISAAQ

between 1988-1990 the Hawiye Pilots refused against bombarding Civilians in Hargeysa , Abdirahman Buluq Buluq hired Rhodesian mercenary pilots to carpet the Town an estimated over 50,000 to 60,000 civilians were killed ,at same time of the highest SNM rebellion the Afwayne red beret carry the Jaziira massacre of Isaaq civilians .
