I know u are both wrong but I can't recall the formula. only 1,2 and ( am not sure 3) should appear in your answer.

The next number is 312212

Each subsequent number literally describes the preceding number.
(1) one one
(11) two ones
(21) one two, one one
(1211) one one, one two, two ones
(111221) three ones, two two's, one one
etc.
