The Poison Of Wahhabism
Wahhabis (also known as Salafis) are really quite an astonishing phenomena. They’re a minority sect funded and supported with Saudi money that arrogantly claim that they're exclusively the true Muslims who will go to heaven.
Wahhabis claim that all other Muslims in their entirety with the exception of their own minority sect are destined for hell. They boast that to enter heaven, one must first be a Wahhabist.
Also according to these Wahhabis, the following trivial, insignificant and minor acts are severely punishable by Allah in hell:
1) Taking photographs of family and friends
2) Men wearing ankle length trousers
3) Believing in democracy (this amounts to disbelief (shirk) they say)
What’s most astonishing about Wahhabis is none of their aforementioned extremist views is supported by the Quran. Where then do they derive their fanatical beliefs from one may ask? Their extremist views are taken from the writings of so-called Islamic scholars whose names I won’t bore you with, but it’ll suffice for us in this brief thread to familiarise ourselves with the name of one of the most notable of them, and whose name the term “Wahhabi†is derived from: Mohammed Abdul Wahhab.
Anyone familiar with Wahhabis will notice that they absolutely worship and revere in a way most disturbing this outrageous and clearly deluded man.

Wahhabis also frequently denounce Muslims that differ in religious interpretation (particularly the Shia & occasionally other Sunnis) as non-believers. They’ve absolutely no regard for the lives of non-Wahhabis. It is also a point worth mentioning that Islamist mass murderers, Abu musa’b Al Zarqawi , Zacarias Moussaoui and the likes are self-professed Wahhabis. That could explain why they don’t have much qualm about shedding the blood of other Muslims in war zones such as Iraq.
These people have no claim to Islam anymore than the Klu Klux Klan represents Christianity. They’re the poisonous dagger thrust in the heart of Islam.
This extremist element is responsible for the persecution of Muslims and the growing Islamophobia in Western society. It’s time to stop these fanatical zealots, thugs and hate-mongers dead in their tracks and force them to retreat to the underground sewer they crawled out from.

I've illustrated extensively why I believe Wahhabis to be an evil and a poison to free society. You however have provided no explanation as to why you think freethinkers are an evil.
Do freethinkers condemn people to hell? Do they murder innocent people in the name of god? Do Freethinkers carry out amputations, stoning to death, and public executions ?
Please share with us the similarities you think exist between freethinkers and Islamist Wahhabis.
Do freethinkers not promote freedom, liberty and progressive thinking?
Please justify your lurid allegations or if you can’t, withdraw them immediately.
Not to mention irrelevant and fake.
If what I say is "fake" and concocted, then I challenge you to rebutt any of my claims. I challenge you to deny anything in my analysis. The truth is each and every thing in my analysis of Wahhabism from their denunciation of Muslims other than themselves as misguided and destined for hell, to their hate of the Shia is fact and can be demonstrably verified.
I challenge any of the Wahhabis amongst our midst to deny any of the aforementioned! They truth is they can't, because my analysis is accurate and correct so instead they resort to the only defence they know-insults.
Sxiib maa isska amustiid, you are in no position to depict Islam, if Muslims have their clashes of opinion it’s their issue…
This thread has absolutely naught to do with Islam, it cheifly concerns the extremely hateful and destructive ideology that has been recently creeping into main stream Islam known as Wahhabism or Salafism
have you been denounced by Muslims or something which led to your agnostic view? If you’re a Somali am guessing you have roots in Islam
My agnostic outlook isn't the result of being denounced by anyone, it was a realisation that my beliefs somewhat resembled savages of the jungle who believe in crazy superstitions of all sorts, and that my beliefs in invisible agents had no scientific grounding whatsoever. In fact being a Salafi prior to my realisation, I regularly use to denounce all governments that did not govern according to the Quran and sunnah as non-Muslims.
It's important to understand that agnosticism doesn't only refer to disbelief in god, but it has a broader, much more meaningful definition. Agnosticism in its broader sense refers to suspending one's judgment in all things doubtful-not just religion.
If one feels that there isn't enough evidence to judge either one way or the other on any given matter, the agnostic mindset demands that the most appropriate course of action in such an instant is to suspend one's judgement until further proof can be gathered, rather than taking a position which one cannot maintain through sufficient scientific evidence.

agnostic,
your Cyber Crusade will take you nowhere.
Know that Allah will complete this diin and give it supremacy over every other earthly philosophy or creed even though the disbelievers/hypocrites may hate it.
Islam will continue to capture the hearts & minds of mankind until every household in the world will be affected by it.

I fully concur. Wahhabism has already affected the hearts and minds of many a people by instilling fear and apprehension of it. Every "household" as you so aptly and accurately put it today witnesses via their telly the face of these extremist Wahhabis and their destructive deeds all across the globe, from the warzone of Iraq, to the peaceful streets of London.

While I do not agree with 'some' Salafis but themselves aren't in the same page. The above examples about taking pictures..etc. Not all salafis say it's haram. They make sense to me most of times. Maybe some thing to do with being Saudi my self and i got use to hear these thing since i remember. The salafis, atleast the one i deal with them, believe in the Islam of the earliest generation, and since four Sunni Imams belonged to that generation, it only makes sense that the salafi beliefs are the same as theirs. However, things i don't understand about my people are waste their energy such commonsense issues:
-What shoe one should put on first when getting dressed?
-Is it permissible for me to drink while standing up?
-Can one eat food using my left hand? (And I've seen many of them saying that it is only arrogance that causes a person to use their left instead of their right which is so ridiculous), i am left handed and far from being arrogant)
-Should you sleep on your left side or the right?
-Can a man look directly at a woman who is interviewing him for a job?
Such questions seem so waste of time, babyish, and pointless. But, these kinds of questions are taken very seriously by them.
Honestly i am more concerned thier interpretations of 'power' and 'authority' (to just keep Saud family in the power). That was a much later development in sunni Islam, and since anything that starts later on is considered a bid'a, salafis stick to the literal meanings.
Remember this is between muslims only to agree or disagree. Why you are so bothered by them if you don't belief in Islam to begin with?

My brother occasionally attends a local mosque which unfortunately has a Wahhabi administration, as such I feel as a former Salafi, I ought to expose the deceitful and malevolent nature of Salafis to him and others. I'm opposed to religion and superstition in general, but I'm particularly concerned about this fanatical sect whom without the support of Saudi donation money, would not attract half a dozen credulous followers.

I was talking about real Salafis not those running mosques in the West. Those people don't even understand what they preaching. Majority don't understand Arabic grammar to choose from one interpretation from another. I don't know how some one can fully understand Islam without mastering the language of Qur'an. In Saudi Arabia, they are very aware what they are doing and for whom. Followers outside here don't understand. House of Saud know their power is in question here. They using scholers here and pamper them with money to get supporters out side the Kingdom.
