Scotland Yard have taken food samples from the London Marriott West India Quay Hotel where the Tottenham Hotspur players ‘enjoyed’ some lunch. Whether there was food poisoning or not it seems a reasonable working theory at this time.

The dish that is allegedly responsible for this outbreak of Delhi-Belly is alleged to be lasagna (perhaps Bella Pasta was full?) – not your usual shellfish type suspect, and also not a foodstuff that regularly takes out large numbers of young men. If this were the case then lecture theatres up and down the country would regularly be empty … well perhaps that does explain a few things then.

So many of the Spurs players were affected that Martin Jol was reduced to listing the players that avoided the lasagna – “Paul Robinson, Stephen Kelly, Anthony Gardner and Jermain Defoe”. As conspiracy theories are now whizzing round it seems appropriate to have a look at them and make up some of our own.

I hardly watch the Primier League or UEFA cups. I guess where I live, people place less value interest on Soccer events with no popular channels covering most of these events.

It is possible that they might have been poisoned for whatever reasons: Politically or economically motivated motives. It reminds me of a Playoff Game between the Lakers and the Kings (NBA) in which the super star Kobe was said to be have been poisoned after showing lethargy and dizziness during the game. The Kings won that game and extended the series to game 7.

Imagine how much money would have been lost if that game hadn't happened.
