i promised i would not comment on anything concerning Islam, BUT this definetly needs to be heard.

The court's public execution of Omar Hussien covered by Shabelle and other news was definetly very disturbing. Yes retribution is very important principle in Islam, i understand that, "an eye for an eye" is the rule when it comes to capital punishment. But there was something sick, and disturbing about that video, a year old boy stabbing someone numerously without blinking even for a second, says something about the social and pyschological state of our capital city and our country as a whole. the question must be addressed, if a sixteen year old boy can kill someone without remorse, i mean be it retribution or just an intent to kill, then it means he is just as likely to kill someone himself. The exact crime of this man was not even determined. Usually in somalia the families find some way to settle killing woes of a family member, but this public show by the courts is just sick. Even the stepmom of the dead kid says the courts pushed for a public execution in place of compensation. honestly, am just so sick of hypocrites and those who wanna ruin the already shamed name of our country in the name of some Isamic law which they haven't quite figured out yet. The Courts should perhaps read the laws of murder under the Shariah, i mean how are the idiots enforcing laws they haven't even read? at least that is the least they could do for us Mad

this has nothing to do with Islam for goodness sake.. you can have this discussion without involving Islam. You do know how most Muslims feel about this incident and you do know that it is un-islamic and has nothing to do with the Shariica so why is there a need to discuss Islam?

i understand what you mean, i just wanted to silence those who would accuse me of islamic bashing ...anyway, it was definely very sad for me, i mean any hopes of muqdisho turning around and trying to incorporate Muqdisho into our so called transitional goverment looks imposssible...the whole thing was sad from all angles, anyway you look at it...very sad, it puts a light on where Somalia is as a whole today...very disappointing and very depressing.

His excution was uncalled for, They could have him put behind bars and let him their for centuries to come, Other then, handling it the method they've carried out. Which was un-muslim like.

THe excutioner wasn't a 16 yr old boy as initially reported, he was a grown man. A cautious tale never to take first reports for truth.

I'm not surprised by the grisly and indignified manner of the excusion. I've seen (in documentaries of course) little kids, under 10 yrs old, killing and pillaging with dispassionate, perfunctory manner that would but some professionally trained killers to shame. Frankly speaking, I have long ago ceased to be shocked by the depth man go to be cruel to his fellow man.
