There was time when Somaliland people have the highest concern about the danger of political instability which would have lead to clan warfare, but thank God our citizens proved to be far more mature in understanding the difference between honest politicians and the hot-headed or manipulative ones. I also believe the goodwill and the resilience of our people is the only thing that keeps our hope of sovereignty intact. However, there are still uncertain times ahead of us, if we lose concentration and forget what our goals are by allowing some individuals to take advantage of the democratic system, if we allow special interests to encroach deep into our society in order to achieve their political aim then the odd politicians will win and political catastrophe will wipe out all the concrete achievements we have been building over the years.

My fellow Somalilanders, I am writing this piece because like so many other Somalilanders I always have my share of concern about Somaliland politics and also to remind you that our young democracy is not stable yet. On top of that we have so many self-centered politicians who only care about grandstanding and scoring political points. We also have clannish politicians who always play the dirty tribal card consciously or subconsciously.

It is fair to say that there are so many honest and hard working politicians in our country who are united for the Somaliland cause and the well being of its people, these politicians belong to all political parts; they came from all over Somaliland. It is also an enormous comfort for the people of Somaliland to have sensible elders to deal with every hard and gloomy situation with calm and experience.

If I come back to the purpose of my article, we have elected our representative in the house of parliament in order to serve us to the best of their abilities, we also expect them to fix and solve every problem, which faces our nation to day, such as Infrastructures. Foreign relations, Social welfare, Rule of law, and to find a solution for the most depressive issue we are facing at the present time which is the lack of world recognition, the last thing we need is another bullfight over our constitution and persistent argument about the rights and the prerogatives of the executive branch. It is unfortunate to see today the unholy activities of certain politicians in all our institutions whether they are in the government, in the parliament or in political parties.

To achieve the issues that are matter to the broader public our parliament should abandon the part politics and should focus on what average citizen in the street is concerning about, but how can this be a possible when the second highest person in the parliament is busy to run a campaign on behave of his part.

Yes Honorable CABDICASIIS MAXAMAD SAMAALE, the second important person in the parliament is running propaganda campaign on behave of his part and his provocative language is something we should all be concern about. His last remarks about Rayalaal’s government shows exactly what kind of polices he intended to pursue.

Mr Samaale said these words in his last speech in the parliament

These words don’t sound such words of a neutral man, but what the deputy chairman is trying to tell the house is that the government led by Riyaale doesn’t deserve any credit and it is no use in his opinion also he want to enforce his opinion by any means. So forgive if I sound over the top but, has the poor chairman realized that he was speaking in Somaliland house of representative where all parts were represented when he made these above remarks or was he foolishly mistaken that as he was in a Kulmiye part conference where he use to be part’s spokesperson. Shouldn’t the chairman has to think that there maybe some representative who agree the government more than they agree him.

Leadership requires certain skills and experiences amongst other things. Neutrality is one of them so if you are been chosen to lead an organization which has different opinion you have to work hard to brought them together in order to do this you need to put aside some of your believes, but Mr Samaale’s actions are opposite to these ideas, he want to push his own agenda into the parliament and it is matter of time when we will see a clear division in the house If SAMALE gets his way.

MR Samaale is not a man who believes compromises but he is a man who dislikes president Rayaale for personal reasons which has nothing to do with the political differences. He wants president rayaal out of the office rightly or wrongly and he wants him out sooner rather than later he also prepares to do what ever it takes. Honorable Samaale is a kulmiye agent who is in a mission but he is in wrong mission that will benefit no one at all. He also in a mission, which will divert the attention of the house from the real issues that are facing our country. He is in a mission that will divide not only the house of parliament but also the whole nation if he succeeds.

So Mr SAMAALE needs to realize he is not kulmiy’s spokesperson anymore and he needs to understand his role in the house of parliament. He should enjoy the privilege of the seat he occupy but he should also take to account his actions will affect the whole nation.
