BREAKING NEWS: Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf On Death Bed

SOMALI PRESIDENT RUSHED TO HOSPITAL
NAIROBI. May 18, 2006. Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, President of Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) was rushed to Nairobi Hospital after flying into Wilson Airport, from the temporary capital of Baidoa in Somalia. Sources close to the hospital indicate that President Ahmed was complaining of chest discomfort and had requested to be flown to Nairobi. The 67 year-old leader has suffered from poor health for many years.
Presidential spokesman, Ahmed Dinaari, denied that allegations that the President Ahmed had suffered a heart attack. "The President is in good health contrary to basless rumors that he is suffering from ill health. He was taken to Nairobi Hospital as a precaution." said Mr. Dinaari.
President Ahmed was elected President of Somalia in October 2004 after the conculsion of the two-year Somali Peace Conference hosted in Kenya. Somalia has been without a functioning national government, since the collapse of the goverment of the Somali strongman, Muhammed Siyad Barre in 1991.
