A Tribute to Major General Mohamed Siad Barre

It's imperative that Somalis should erect a statue for the late President of Somalia for the achievements he accomplished during his tenure of the supreme post.
I know it will take a long time to recount everything he did for the nation of Somalia - feel free to contribute - but I would say, if he managed to put and kept the current Mogadishu savages on a short leash, he must have been one heck of a man.

Cherokee..Afweyne was his name when he was alive, why should we stop calling him that now?
A true leader inspires and leads his people through vision, charisma and knowledge. Afweyne used fear and mass killings. He was not a leader.

What he has accomplished while he was living is none of my concern, But the way he led Somalia is something worth tributing to.
Afweyne was name given to him by the waqooyi. Besides it's not a appropriate name.

Another reason for Somalilanders to be separate for the time being. Erecting such a statue would definitely close the case of reer waqooyi.
It is becaue of him they act that way, were the residents of Mogadishu known for such acts before Afweyne. If you create a monster you better deal with it.

I have a feeling that u are one of those people that like to talk so they can hear themselves talk. U don't care about what he has accomplished while he was living??isn't that what this whole tribute is all about? What did accomplish besides run Somalia to the ground and massacre its people along the way?
