"Until we get the Islamic state, we will continue with the Islamic struggle in Somalia," Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, chairman of Mogadishu Islamic courts, told a rally of hundreds of people on Tuesday.

Fuad Ahmed, a militiaman loyal to the Islamist side, said: "This is a long Islamic struggle and it will continue until the whole country comes under Sharia [Islamic] law.

"We are ready to shed our blood in order for that struggle to succeed."

The Islamic revolution is coming. It's a given the conservative population (the majority) of those regions would welcome the Islamic Revolution. The seculars, clanists & qabiilists of those regions; resist at your own risk.

The last thing that region needs is more fuel to keep the 15 year long fire going, and is there better fuel for that than religion.

I think its more of a Somali Revolution, but we are using Islam to finally rise. and insha Allah it will work.

But the thing is for now the Islamic court is good, and the warlords are defeated,but what do yall think this court will actually do when in action. You know somalis will always find a lope hole in everthing, and will use religion or anything to get what they want.

do yall actually think that this court will follow the Sharia and the sunnah of Nabi Moxamed(SCW) fully and honestly?

Why not? Just take a glimpse at its track records of free social services, helping the poor & defenseless, order, law, justice, etc.

Whats more likely to happen is that these self styled Courts will fight over with one another much the same like the warlords. Somaliland is peaceful country, if we want Islamic government we will vote for it in election.we don't need war and chaos to change our political system and our waadads all will support and respect peoples wishes.

Well, the track records of Islamists do not indicate so. Islamists have no problem with each other; it's the warlords, seculars, clanists & qabiilists who have problems with each other.

Do you think Ethiopia or the West will allow that? Do you know about what the West did to the democratically elected Islamic government of Algeria in early 90's? Do you know what Hamas, the current democratically elected Palestinian government, is facing? The truth is, what kind of system you vote for is not upto you; it's upto Ethiopia and the West. Rest assured; Ethiopia and the West will never allow you to vote for an Islamic government.

Sheikh Sharif Ahmed. Actually, he's an average looking Faarax. It's actions that matter, not looks. People have no choice with the looks they are born with. Of course, a gargaabe like you whose life and world revolves around clans would see things and people from a clan point of view.
