Somalia: Embagati Parliament Voted For War
Wednesday, June 14, 2006.
the Embagati-Kenya formed parliament was first founded on shaky grounds because discredited warlords led by Abdullahi Yusuf were given the ultimate power of choosing what was called (the Somali members of parliament).
In fact, the Embagati formed government was a great conspiracy on Somalia spearhead by the states of Ethiopia, Kenya, Italy etc in order to make sure that Somalia is weakened as a nation, exploited and divided into conflict ridden and feuding tribal enclaves in line with the majeerteen Puntland, the isakland enclave etc. The overall objective is to secure Ethiopian and kenyan domination in the horn of Africa.
To achieve those objectives in Somalia, Ethiopia and its allies who are all the sworn enemies of the Somali people have decided to use and fully support two men namely warlord Abdullah Yusuf and Ali Mohamed Ghedi in this process. Both men were groomed by Ethiopia and they are more loyal to Ethiopia than their country of birth.
Earlier in March 2005, parliament refused to sign in foreign troops deployment in Somalia but this time round, it seems as though clan alliances and bribery has played a major role in the way things turned out. Reliable messages received from Baydhabo told that only two major clan MPs voted for foreign troops deployment in Somalia and they are the Darood and Rahanwein clan MPs. The combined Darood and Rahanwein MPs are 122 MPs. Each major clan's quota was 61 MPs.The overall Embagati parliament consisted of 275.
Now should the Union of Islamic Courts accept the verdict of 125 so-called MPs whose votes were probably illegal and tribal based ?
The answer must be emphatically NO. Because MPs rejected similar motion in march 2005 and on top of that this illicit verdict is exposing Somalia to Ethiopian conquest of Somalia, civil wars and further social strife's and the definite dismemberment of Somalia which is totally unacceptable.
What the Union of Islamic Courts ought to do:
!. condemn and reject the outcome of MPs publicly
2. Treat warlord A. Yusuf as you treated the likes of
Qanyare, Bootaan Ciise, yalahow, Mohamed Dheere etc
3. Take swift measures to dislodge warlord Yusuf from Baydhabo
4. Declare a national government without delay
5. Reject the concept of Federalism & clannism
6. Fight and reject foreign interferences in Somalia
7. Don't hesitate to do what is right and honourable
Finally, the era of warlord ism is defeated in Somalia and Abdullahi Yusuf must be forced to realise that fact. The so-called transitional federal government is presumed dead because it totally failed to achieve anything positive in Somalia since it was formed two years ago except creating more inter- clan wars, political assassinations, the printing of illicit currencies, nepotism, favouritism, bone cutting corruption and laughable dirty policies.
I warn the international community to lift the arms embargo on Somalia and continue their support to hated and discredited political figures like warlord Abdullahi Yusuf who has completely lost the confidence of the Somali people at large.
Undeniably, the Union of Islamic courts have succeeded in taking over the control of the capital Mogadishu, Balcad, Jowhar etc and established visible peace and orderly functioning administration, thus they are the ones who have the popular support and blessings of the Somali people and this is the reality in the capital Mogadishu today.
Therefore, I would ask the international community to support peace, social justice and good governance in Somalia by talking to the Union of Islamic Courts. Most Somalis are convinced that the leaders of the Islamic courts are moderate Muslims who are eager to establish good governance in Somalia and also establish good international relations with the outside world including the neighbouring countries like Ethiopia.
