The ethiopian government needs to deal with these problems facing its citizens instead of meddling in somali affairs.

"so if i go Addis you mean my fantasy will come true"
In Ethiopia, marrying a girl of 11-12-13 isn't fantasy; it's the norm. Ethiopian girls, especially those of the highlands, are married at a very tender age. Also with Somalis, the generation of our parents and grandparents used to marry at a tender age. Only in the past few decades, since we become ilbax, girls are married at very late age. There are many women at +40 who never got married; courtesy of ilbaxnimo.

Arabman, the generation of our parents even grandparents married young alright, perhaps 17 or 18ish, however, never at the tender age of 11 or 12. Seriously would you let your kid sister or daughter marry at 11 or 12?
Nothing wrong with 40 year old single woman, ilbaxnimo or otherwise. I would rather be single forever than having one failed marriage.

It has been a huge problem in the US and in most poor regions of the world where ppl force their daughters off to prostitute in the street to earn a living. Their was a documentary regarding that just a few weeks ago in CNN. where young girls from the ages of 5-10 are mosted liked to have a sexual intercourse with. and their number 1 costumers are US citizens. Wallahi it's a sick world we live in.

"never at the tender age of 11 or 12"
I am talking about the parents of the 50's, 60's & 70's. In those eras, especially the 50's & 60's, it was common to marry a girl at 13-15. I know many families (of ethnic Somalis) in which the moms were married at 13 or 14. Marrying girls at such tender age (13-15) was common among the coastals and riverines. I would imagine it was so among the geeljires, especially those living in rural centers (baadiyo). Bear in mind, girls and boys in those eras matured (qaangaar) at an early age, with some (the boys) carrying the responsibility of their families on their shoulders. Contrast that with single men/women at 30-40 who still live with their parents.
"Seriously would you let your kid sister or daughter marry at 11 or 12?"
I am not ilbax, so if she has reached the biological stage of marrying (some young girls mature early biologically), if she has satisfactory maturity (some young girls gain maturity at an early age), and if she's ok with the marriage- yes.
"Nothing wrong with 40 year old single woman"
I disagree; something is wrong with that. A woman has to go through a biological process (pregnancy, having and raising children) in order to lead a normal and healthy lifestyle. This process in encoded in women's genetics; a woman denying herself that process is a sad woman, a woman who would experience physiological and psychological negative changes.

Arabman, Girls can mature "biologically" as young as 9, does not mean she is ready to get married. Also in this age there aren't any mature 12 year olds who are ready to take on the resposibility of marriage and family. It should not be encouraged.
As to 40 year single women, nothing wrong with them other than society, period! The source of great stress which can be emotionally difficult to bear for some women, hence, all these negative physiological and psychological results you mentioned.

It's all your fault.
I'm not 40 or quite single. However, I don't care for treatment of women if she is in the "unpleasant predicament" of being too old, single, divorcee, single mother...etc. We're never really left alone. I don't condone the expectation to behave and live in a certain way, otherwise you're an outcast, out the door. Specially when it's usually reserved only for women.
