A Halimo fall madly in love with this Farah friend of mine, after dating her for a couple of years, they decided to tie the knot. Halimo is from a wealthy family but Farah lives from hand to mouth, literally from paycheck to paycheck. Father-in-law considered to save his daughter from the misery and proposed to lend a hand but Farah flatly turned down the prposal. Here is what the old dude offered: "The keys to a furniture store" and it is not just an ordinary furniture store but a spacious well-to-do kinda, but Farah's pride could not be negotiated and sold in change (as he puts it"
Father-in-law again proposed to accept it as a loan and repay him gradually and as time permits, Farah again rejected and thumped his nose indicating that he would rather stay the rifraf he is than accept charity from the father of his bride.
So, would you have done different from Farah and accept with a grin or play hard to get like the above Farah?

pride

its not charity if he pays him back. but i think he might have answered differently if they coated and iced the offer e.g. giving it as a wedding present and refusing to take it back saying it would be an insult or having the halimo ask him. see what i mean?
but bottom line, his pride will get him nowhere, he just threw away his ticket to an easier life

Sir,
Ninkaasi wuxuu ka dambeeyaa raggii odhan jirey, "Naagtu haddii ay dheri kuula timaaddo waa laga jebiyaa"

Gabadhu way kusoo biirin kartaa gurigeeda wax walba, markaa gabadha iyo reerkoodu wixii ay isi siiyaan waa ok. Wiilka iyo gabadha marba kii wax hayaa waa inuu bixiya kharashka arooska.... Deyn in dusha la iska saarana maaha wax qurux badan...Furniture qaali ahna maaha daruuri...
Keliya waxaa khatar ah marka midkood uu yahay mashaqayste....
