Bless you, FF,

I am spending the Fourth visiting my folks in a little town near Salt Lake City. We traditionally sit on their back deck and watch the fireworks the City lights off for several hours here after dark.

Tomorrow we leave for my nephew's wedding in Las Vegas, and then on to visit my sister-in-law's family in Long Beach.

Happy 200 something birthday to the USA the best thing God ever dreamt up making. This place is loved and hated in equal mesaure but it is always imitated. Sense of justice and fairplay, sense of feeling for the little guy; an incomparable urge to correct evil real or perceived are values this big nation represents to me and to all other decent human beings the world over.

Where will we be without this benign, gentle(sometimes bumbling but always innocently) lumbering giant of a country with its great hearted people and disgusting cuisine?

Oh and how the ancients survived without some wheels on an open motorway with Howlin' Wolf exploding with Smokestack lightnin' on the deck I will never know.

Humanity will be an orphan without USA.

Only if they learn how to play some decent football and brew decent beers..oh well nobody is perfect!
