The Islamic courts and it' s view on Women

Post by LaDy-Qac »

I have been reading about all kinds of ridicilous policies which will allegedly be enforced by the Islamic courts: from killing people who miss their prayers to prosecuting people who consume Coca Cola. I wonder what there take is on Women? Confused

All of this is hearsay. You cant judge these courts untill they implement these procedures. Otherwise spekticism and hearsay is not going to get somalis as a whole anywhere. Let them implement these laws and see the backlash from the every day laymen come later.

Even Siyaas Bare couldnt scape with that crap... so Islamic militia wont scape with that stuff......

I will tell you their views on women... their views on women aint different than the one Taliban imposed women in Afganistan.. you will wear burqa, obey your man, dont wear perform, dont wean nice cloths, dont drive a car.. you know the whole drill...... anywoman who is happy with that, than go for it....

my view is, give the people choices.. if the lady chooses to wear burqa than she should go for it but to impose is a bit too much...

There is nothing wrong with wearing a burka. My fear is that women will be excluded from functioning and being worthy contributers to the economy and society overall Crying or Very sad

there is a war of words being waged against anything islamic by the kafirs and their pets. don't fall for it my dear sister. women were never treated as second class citizens in somalia and they will never be treated that way. our worst days(the last 16 years) are almost behind us so let us look forward to the future and forget about our horrible recent past.

What will happen if the courts say that 'khat' is haram?

'khat' haram in Somalia???????? It will provoke another civil war between khat-chewers and the neo-talibans. No clans war this time.

It's gonna be the khat-war.

My solidarity with women if the neo-talibans start to behave as their afghan comrades...

nothing guarantees that women will be excluded or included.. it leans though into exclusion.. all they have to do is to bear a kid and be a good wife... that is.. everything else will be done by the men

kamal, i don't think they be able to ban khat. it is almost impossible to do such thing in somalia. they will just have to educate the younger generations about the negative effects of khat. the former regime tried to ban khat back in the day but it was not successful. people were still smuggling it into the country even though the punishment for getting with that shit was very harsh. khat has somali men by the balls, man. i don't know how any sane person can chew that shit knowing what the fukk it does to your teeth and eyes. when you chew khat for long periods of time, you will end up looking like a fukkin zombie wallahi.

I think they eventually will try to ban khat but that will definately be there downfall. They are smart enough to know that they shouldn' t touch on the subject right now but I pray to god that they will one day.

Qansa: that's my point too. They're ready to ban everything, music, sports, coca-colar or whatever. But with that rationale, o even more, with a good rationale, khat should be the first thing they banned: it's bad for your health, your mind, your look. khat is only comparable to cocaine, has the same effects in a long time term. Will they ban it? I doubt it very much. The old hipocresy will remain.

I always thought that khat-chewing was one of the regular basis of the crisis of Somalia: men high on khat become really violent and if you have a gun around, you want to use it when you're stoned. Women are the only ones who are working for the peace in Somalia, but they don't have room enough to keep their good work going. And now, if the neo-talibans come around, women gonna have it harder...
