How many people here think that the only solution to the Palestinian - Israeli conflict is a two state solution? Regardless of what the boundaries finally end up being, how many believe that is the only way to a permanent peace settlement?

Only a coward will give away one inch of muslim land to an occupier. They may hold it by force for years but we never should accept that and surrender.

All muslims know how it will eventually end:

Since this land confilict turn in to religion warfare by the far right politicians of the both sides I have came to a conclusion that the only solution of those stupid pple who turn the world madia away from a genuine problems of this world like Tsunami,Darfur,Somalia,Global warming,starvation,debt relieve in to thier own selfish intrest.
They must become one country that shares everything in goverment positions and praliment its good for isreal security and the plastinians can benefit from the employment and isreals first class medical system and education, after all these hooyadood wasooyin are the sons and the doughters of one father Mr Ibraham.
The US goverment must tap the bill of the glued fregile coalition for the coming 2 or 3 generations.

Two states would be a good solution if both states have the compromise of not to attack each other. Another good deal would be the partition of Jerusalem in two parts: one for the muslims and one for the jews with an international supervision.

Although I always thought that the jews should all live in Argentina, where they're a majority and live in peace without any problem, now that they're de facto in Israel, it's stupid to ignore them and ignore their rights to be there. The same way, it's stupid that israelis to ignore the rights of the Palestinians.

and isreals idea of a palestinan state is completly differant from the arabs.
For the Isrealis they saw a palestinan state just like the south africans saw the bantustans, or like they saw lesotho ad swaziland.

Obviously there are issues associated with how to achieve the two state solution, but for now let's just get a feel for what percentage favors that and which percentage does not.

You should have had add 1 STATE SOLUTION, two state solution will never work, and Whipping Isreal out of the map is not idealistic and actually is an stupid idea to begin with.
Making peace is far more beneficial than resorting to war and tit for tat killing which will benefit no one and increase hostilities.
I SAY THIS MUST BE A ONE STATE SOLUTION.

One State Solution - The Palestianians should DEMAND to be made Israeli citizens with full rights. They should integrate into the Israeli state.

The Palestinians would then in 10-15 years would become a the majority due to higher population growth.

This is why the Israelis won't buy into right of return or the single state solution. They can read the demographics just like you can. This is already part of the official line. There can be no right of return and no single state solution because it would destroy the Jewish state.

Therefore, saying the single state solution is the way to go is the same thing as saying the Jewish state has to be destroyed. It's just another way to achieve that end, and a way the Israelis won't accept because they know that.

So MadMac... then the Israelis face a Catch 22. They can either retreat back to the 67 borders or continue the status quo and allow the Palestianians to outbreed them.

I also forgot to include the Israeli Arab minority. Their population is also increasing rapidly. They are citizen of Israel but share ethnic ties with their Palestinian brethern.

Actually Abdi, it looks like they intend to create a physical border with their wall, which will include the large settlements and abandon the small ones. The Israelis will have thus created a defacto boundary.

How will the Palestinians react to that? Given that for every attack they launch they suffer more than they gain, I would expect them to at some point try to use what little leverage they have left to get maximum economic aide. But this won't happen until Fatah wins an election and controls the government.

Fatah are a spent force. The problem with the rightwing Israeli government is that they have consistently been wrecking the more moderate wing of the Palestinians. This has lead to a radicalization of the Palestinians and voila, in comes Hamas. This party won fair and square after the moderate Abbas government was unable to secure anything tangible from the Israelis.

The wall is a mere land grab tactic. The Palestians are in a position of suffering more losses because they are unable to gain support from the Arab nations nor the Western nations. They are in effect what the Native Americans were to the US.
