Skill of Hezbollah

Post by gurey25 »

It seems they are quite a resourcefull bunch.
Many examples are out there but the best example is how they hit the isreali corvete Hanit, with an anti ship missile.

It seems that they were expecting the ship to be able to detect its missile
and shoot them down with thier close in weapons systems,
i.e Phalanx.

It turned out the that the isrealis did not expect such an attack and they turned off thier phalanxs anti-missle system to avoid hitting friendly aircract.

Hezbollah expecting thier missle to be shot down laubched 2 types apparetly, the enormous 750kg c-802 chinese deisgned went directly for the target, while the smaller optically guided c-701 sneaked in on a very low altitude.

They wanted the big missle to attract the attention of the Isrealis, while they hit the it with the smaller one.

funny thing is that becuase the ships phalanx system and radar was turned off(or so the isrealis claim) , the c-802 went past the isreali shipp and hit an Egyptian cargo ship 44 kms away, while the smaller one hit the isrealis.

Explains how the ship managed to stay afloat and survive, becuase of the small warhead.

The BBC said that 8 Israeli soldiers were killed. The biased, jewish-owned coopeartion forgot to mention the other 6. Rolling Eyes

UK peeps should watch Channel 4 news instead of the BBC1 News

Hizbollah has been in the buisiness a long time. They have significant resources, they are battle hardened, and dedicated. They will be difficult to defeat and should be able to acquit themselves well in battle, within the limits of their military resources.

Things will probably continue to go like they are now. Hizbollah will absorb significant losses, and utilize a large amount of its munitions. Eventually, there will be a ceasfire. Israel will control a buffer zone in southern Lebanon when the ceasefire is finally agreed upon.

What happens after that. There will probably be a Mexican stand off for a while, with Hizbollah frequently violating the ceasefire and Israel frequently retaliating.

In other words, more of the same that we have been seeing in the region for the last 60 years. Why should it change?

MM

so you do agree that nothing will change and Hezbollah will only come back stronger after a cease-fire is agreed upon. so that means the Isreali campaign was a failure right Laughing

BTW this is why Hezbollah can't be defeated Idea

It won't come back stronger. But it will remain resilient.

But make no mistake. Hizbollah can be defeated. If the Israelis were willing to kill all the Arabs in southern Lebanon hizbollah, with no population to hide amongst, would be toast. That's the key to winning a counter insurgency. Killing the population group that support its.

you and i both know Isreal can't just kill everyone in southern lebanon, that would probably bring about the destruction of the jewish state.

this is the reality, everything Isreal has done and continues to do since these latest round of violence started was a failure when you look at the bigger picture. The Isreali bombing of Lebanon and the lack of action from other arab regimes to help out their sufferring brothers has only increased the risk of Mubarak, and all the other kings being overthrown just like the masses did with the former Shah of Iran.

What you guys can't get your heads around is that you're the weak. Israel can never be defeated for some very good, practical reasons. Suppose, for the sake of argument, that allthe Arab regimes fell and UBL took control of the entire Arab nation. STILL they would not be able to defeat Israel.

So the fight goes on and on. The best you can achieve is a draw. The Israelis have no choice. They are fighting for their lives. Their backs are to the sea.

the arabs are pretty much fighting for their lives too, its just that their western puppet leaders can't or don't want to see that.

ps one can support the arab masses without necessarily supporting or even agreeing with UBL.

Hezbollah had the best teacher any armed militia could have -- Isreal. 20 yrs of practicing, honing their hit and run/hide game on them have turned them into a force to reckon with. They can't be militarily defeated (in the long term); when Isreal's suprior capabilities come to bear Hezbollah can always melt away into local population and fight another day. That's why Isreal is so insistant at 'disarming' Hezbollah cuz among other reasons they know they can't defeat them.

I personally think Hezbollah and Lebanon wout be better off at joining forces, all groups under the control of the Army of Lebanon.

What has Hezbollah gained from this provocation hitherto?

Dhusa
The government of Lebanon is in opposition to Hizbollah. Remember, Lebanon has a large non-Muslim population.

There is a difference between fighting to rid yourself of bad leadership and fighting because you and all of your people will be killed if you lose. I would hope you could see that. Only the Palestinians are really fighting for their lives.
