You got to hand it to Al Maliki, the Iraqi VP. He disagrees with Bush on Lebanon and refuses to criticize Hezbollah. This pisses off a lot of Democrats but he still makes his speech to congress.
Even a LACKEY Iraqi has principles while our President/Prime Minister go to extreme lengths to dupe us into believing that HABASH are our friends and ZENAWI is our Uncle.

I don't know if he's a lackey of the US. He comes across as a sincere fellow trying to do right by his country to me. Let's remember that not all in the Iraqi government particularly support the US occupation.
I'd be interested in knowing why you think so.
But it's to his credit that he came out against Israel and didn't go along with our dear Prime Minister Blair in condoning Israel's invasion as self-defence.

He can't criticize Hizbollah, because it is against his survival instincts.......remember he is Shia.
Remember he lives in Iraq, not the US........it's easier to dodge a few US Senators for a day or two than to have to face Shia death squads or al-Sadr's Mahdi Army.
He might be labeled 'anti-Semite' by Howard Dean ( AKA "Rebel Yell"), but that is a whole lot better than mortars flying into the Green Zone.
The funny thing is that as an Iraqi Arab, he actually is a Semite, whereas the European Jews are not any more Semite than Chinese Muslims are Arabs.
