Recent developments in Somalia have made it distinctively clear that the conflicts in the country had really been between the entire Somali people on the one hand and the TPLF regime on the other.

The Somali people's assertion that they won't welcome any unsolicited external interference in their affairs, in addition to the abandonment of more than 20 Ministers and cabinet members of the Somali Interim Government on 27 th of July, to whom the TPLF promises "protection and safety", this manifestation clearly demonstrates that the Somali people don't leave any room for doubt that their only quest is to establish a unified central government.

The need for the Somali people to get over their ideological and political differences on their own and creating conducive grounds for reinstating a strong and unified Somalia is now the timely question.

On this point the Government of Eritrea reaffirms its readiness to live up to its moral and historical responsibilities in efforts to build a peaceful and stable Somali nation, and thereby realizing peace in the Horn.
