South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Argentina, India, China, Romania, Bulgaria.....lots of third world countries have growing and emerging economies. The stamping out of corruption, establishment of true free trade would also go a long way to improve things. It ain't easy, but it's doable.

Horrible political instability, boundless corruption, and unfair trade practices. Add it all up and Africa is taking an ass whoopin'. But it can be overcome. Africa has some aggravating factors. Lack of ethnic homegeniety in most of its states, very poor levels of education, poor and detreriortating infratucture.

they do, and they will, when they stop blaming current issues on the colonialism.

Yes it did affect everything, but negative and bad things can be turned around and used for good and turned positive.

africa's problems are corrupt leaders and western(read white) governments's interference with african affairs. basically the westerners want the natural resources of africa so they fight to keep the continent conflict ridden......colonialism never ended.......

Qansa
That is a very exagerated view Africas internal problems. I am not saying that the Western world is white handed here, BUT the cast majority of blame an be put on the issues I cited above. Why is it that Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea - why have they grown. Do we have a special soft spot for Asians?

Dude, India has over 250 MILLION people who are now part of the middle class. India has had the highest real growth rate IN THE WORLD for the last 25 years. That's right, a higher growth rate than the US, EUROPE, CHINA, MALAYSIA - you getting the idea?

Go back and look at the numbers. India isn't out of the woods, because it had a long way to go, but India is an emerging giant.
