If you are shorter than 6', then consider yourself shortie. The reason I am asking is, a former colleague of ours visited us in the office, she is around 6'2", she was talking to a group of ppl in the office when myself and a fellow worker (who is short btw) approached, she turned back and gave me a big hug, then hinted to do the same with shortie who was standing next to me, but he declined and extended his hand for a simple handshake.

I asked him later on, what was the handshake for, he said he didn't wanted to look frail in her hug, I deduced from that that he was intimidated by her height.

Do you feel that way with tall women? I mean if you are short...

At 5'6" I definately qualify as a "shorty". But I do not feel intimidated at all by taller women. Can't share your friends position there. What I would say is that, as a general rule, tall women find short men unattractive. This is not a hard and fast rule, but certainly a common trait.

Men are usually intimidated by women for so many things... They want always to be the taller one...The one who hold the best job...etc Somehow they are comfortable when their lady is "lesser" than them...

But us..(women) it does not bother us if men are shorter than us... And I have noticed that... Even though a guy may look shorter than a women when they stand side by side he does not look that short... I do not why

I think you are wrong there. I know countless of women who openly admit that they do not like to get approached or date a guy shorter than themselves.

As Mad Mac said, its a general rule that tall women find short men unattractive.

I have to tell you that the woman I was most attracted to in my life was at least as smart, and maybe smarter, than I was. She is a professor at a university here in Germany and while she wasn't my taste in the looks department, he intellect was so attractive I could not get enough of her. I can't speak for all men, but I would have no problem with a woman who earned more than me, or was taller than me, or whatever.

I would never be able to find a woman taller than me anyway. But a woman who's smarter than me? Why not. The smarter my woman is, the better. I dont get intimidated at all if my woman happen to be smarter than me and earned more than me. I have no problem with that whatsoever. But I can only speak on my behalf, not for all men.

Most guys have issues if the girl is smarter, wealthier or taller like qudhac pointed out. I think they probably feel insecure if the girl is all that.

I am 6' tall...so I dont remember seeing that many somali girls who were taller ...maybe one or two were really very tall maybe 6'3"- 4" ...but is must be tough for them to find a guy who is taller..how many somalis are above 6'5" that you know??

I'm 5'10", so according to Lug's criteria, i'm a "shorty". But it's pretty rare to find a woman actually taller than I am, though but i've met many who are AS tall as. But intimidated ?? Never. Not by income, intelligence or anything else.
