Completly agree here, Garaad. It's man who's doing evil in the name of religion, not religion itself. I never trust on people who speak in the name of religion to achieve political aims. The most scary things in this world were done in the name of religion. If Jesus would have known the things that some people did in his name...

Garaad: I had the pleasure of meeting Ina Yeey back in 94 when he was in Xamar begging Caydiid to make him the Prime Minister in Salbalaar government. He used to make me laugh with his crude Rer Mudug jokes and I couldn't believe it but he knew all of my relatives even my great grandfather.

I only wish Caydiid picked him. His cunningness and ruthlessness with Caydiid's tactical military strength would have placed SOmalia under an unholy alliance of Sacad-Omar Maxmuud, the two former Captains of Hawiye N Darood.

Not only Jesus....even in Muhammed name many people have misqouted him and used him in an evil way....it happens everyday in the muslim world starting with the rulers.

i believe Ibrahim, Moses,Jesus,Mohamed,Budhah etc..... were good men , even if you don't believe in their religious authorities , they did good for humanity , it's the people who came after them and shaped their principles for their own good

The following wars just in the past few decades invalidate your assertion:

Balkan wars
India-Pakistan Wars
Palestinian-Isreali wars
Sudan War
Northern Ireland conflict

religion is not only the root of evil, it's actually an illness. one that invades and cripples man's innate mental faculties that enable him to discern truth from fiction. it's an ideology that says believe in something on authority alone and not on evidence and logic. in other words, it proudly louds ignorance in place of factual knowledge. how much more evil can it get.

lets not take the God's monotheistic faiths off the hook as he embodies mean-spiritedness and excesses on ostentatiously and in abundance. from condemning his own creation to internal hell for finite crimes to punishing 'em here on earth with mass existinctions and other natural disasters.
