"In the Name of God, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful;
All Praise be to God, Lord of the Seen and unseen;
The Compassionate, The Merciful;

You alone we worship, You alone we ask for help;
Guide us to the straight path;

You know I posted this thread to gain answers from the sea of devout muslims. of which you're one. So, what is answer to my question? Who is Allah worshipping and praying to. Afterall, the Quran IS God's words to mankind. But in this surah, it seems from non-biased reading that humans wrote it and falsely ascribed it's authorship to God.

"Who is Allah worshipping and praying to?"
I heard complaints from former Muslim athiests who complained about this ayat that Allah favours towards believers, but where does it say Allah is worshipping other entities in suurat al Faatiha?
The ignorance of Islam in your mind is evident in your comment made here. How can such a mindset DEBATE Islam?

Ciilmile,
The Quran has 114 chapters. Surah Al Fatixa is one 'em. All of 'em is alleged to be Allah's immutable and veritably true words. Go pick up a Quran and give it a read. When was the last time you read the book supposedly containing your God's unchanged true words?
[quote="musika man"]dhuusa
but where does it say Allah is worshipping other entities in suurat al Faatiha?[quote]
In several places. Here for one:
001.005
YUSUFALI: Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.
PICKTHAL: Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.
SHAKIR: Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help.
>>>When read in the context of the proceeding ayas, it's obvious this surah was written by humans in supplication to Allah. It says, "Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek." If ALlah wrote those words, then the obvious question that immediately leaps to the eye is: who is he speaking to? Himself?

hey, you havent understood the ayat and it has 7 verses, and is integral part of an Islamic prayer (Salaat). Not only the Salaat is not complete without this Surah, it is regarded as an essence of the Qura'an.
as for your baseless allegation;
2:6- As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
2:7- Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they incur.

dhuuso,
Nin hadalka loo saafo ma ihi dee
I got your drift but i was hoping you got mine.
this is the instruction manual that simply and clearly defines the duties imposed on the muslims as well the prayers for holy salvation; a continuous self-reminder of the central tenet of the Islamic faith and a powerful entreaty to set the faithful on the path of righteousness.

I know that's what you think; that I don't understand the verse. But you give me no reason to change my mind. You provide no evidence to counter my arguement. What you write above aint an arguement, just a mere protestation devoid of persuadable arguement. I on the other hand gave you my reasoning, do you disagree with it? If so, show me where I'm wrong. Saying so doesn't make it so!

let's try it for one last time: who is Allah talking to in Surah Al-Fatiha? deal with subject at hand and cut out the mumbo jumbo.
the Quran is instruction manual! ok, but how does that answer the question up for discussion?

You are not looking for a reason to change your mind...its already made up..
Its the first Surah and Allah is telling you to recite it(not directly)...so its you the human who would recite the Surah hence..."Eyaka Na'budu Wa Eyaka Nasta'in" after praising Allah in the previous verses of course..
The problem is you dont understand Arabic...And ALLAH SWT said in another verse " Qur'anan Carabian" not Somalian , not English and not any other language...so iff you did understand the Arabic language it would have made some difference...the phonetics of it, the rhyming and the beauty..
Mind you, there are other Suras where Allah orders the Nabi CSW and the rest of humans to recite and say...like surah Al-Axad
"Qul Huwa Laahu Axad"... It rhymes better...but you dont need to say Qul do you now?? you can easily say Allahu Axad right??
Thats the miracle of the Qura'an and it shows that The Nabi CSW...just recited the way Jibril brought it to him...without making any change.
You dont need a miracle to change your mind......you need Allah's help and your clear mind undevout of Darwin's clouds to find out about the miracles of the Quran .
