LONDON, Oct. 4 (AP) An 18-year-old charged in connection with a failed plot to bomb London's transit system in July last year, appeared in court on Wednesday.

Fardosa Abdullah, from north London, is accused of helping one of the alleged conspirators evade arrest and failing to disclose information about him.

The failed plot, on July 21, came two weeks after the July 7 attacks on London's transport system which killed 52 people and four suicide bombers. The attacks, like the earlier bombings, targeted three London subway trains and a double-decker bus.

Abdullah, who was 17 at the time of the alleged attempted bombings, faces charges of assisting her fiance Yassin Omar, one of the six men facing trial in connection with the July 21 incidents.

The 18-year-old, a British subject, came to Britain as an asylum seeker from Somalia in 1998. She spoke only to confirm her name and address at the short hearing at City of Westminster magistrates court before being remanded in custody until Friday when she is to appear at Woolwich Crown Court.
