October 4, 2006 -- "Everyone jumped in because he is a man," the leader of an alleged gang of bloodthirsty lesbians told cops when the group was charged with trying to stab a filmmaker to death in the Village this summer.

"A man approached us and said, 'Let me get some of that,' " Patreese Johnson, 19, told cops.

"Then he grabbed my arm and spat at Renata . . . I admit I did cut him one time for my own safety."

The startling police statements were released yesterday, as the seven women, all from New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and gang assault.

The Sapphic septet allegedly punched, kicked and stabbed Dwayne Buckle, 28, of Queens, during a brawl on Sixth Avenue on Aug. 19.

Buckle claims that all he said was "Hi," and "How are you doing." He says he's a heterosexual, male victim of a bias attack.

The women claim he spouted anti-gay epithets.
