Can we somalis pull it off (Greater somalia)

Post by galia »

Well can we, it seems the whole world is agaisnt us and ethiopia is trying its best to stop us.

Greater Somalia refers to those regions in the Horn of Africa in which ethnic Somalis live, as well as to the irredentist vision of unifying these people under an enlarged Somali state . Greater Somalia thus encompasses Somalia/Somaliland, eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti and northeastern Kenya. The policy has led to conflict, with Somalia engaging in armed warfare twice with Ethiopia over the Ogaden region.

The first armed conflict began in 1963 in an ethnic Oromo and Somali area, Elkere in Bale province, instigated by the Oromo founder of the United Liberation Forces of Oromia, Waqo Gutu. The Bale revolt, a peasant revolt stemming from issues involving land, taxation, class, and religon.[1] raged in the province for several years until a number of developments took the energy out of the militants, including the decision of Somali Prime Minister Muhammad Haji Ibrahim Egal to focus his country's resources on economic development.[citation needed] Rebels began to surrender to the Ethiopians at the end of 1969; Waqo Gutu, who had been the foremost of the insurgents, was surrounded with his command of barely 200 men in Arana by the Ethiopian army in February 1970 and surrendered. Pacification was complete by the next year.[2]

From the late 1970s onward, Mogadishu was forced to abandon the dream of recreating Greater Somalia. On 27 June 1977, Djibouti became a sovereign nation after 95% of its population voted against rejoining Somalia. Ethiopia scored a decisive victory in 1978 that ended the Ogaden War. In 1981, Siad Barre visited Nairobi, Kenya and stated that Somalia was relinquishing its claim on Kenyan territory. Improved relations with Kenya led to the signing of a pact in December 1984 ceasing hostilities along the border. Following renewed hostilites in Ogaden, Ethiopia and Somalia signed a peace treaty in 1988.

The vision of a Greater Somalia appears to have been put aside for the time being, while Somalia struggles to recover from decades of civil war.

Are you kidding yourselves?!! there won't be any greater Somalia illusion, you guys have cheated enough people with that card and siphoned their livelihoods, we are not falling for that again.

We (the Banaadiri, Baraawe) need to be left alone with the one region we own (Lower Shabelle) we can sustain ourselves and we don't need Lamo Goodle interference, enough is enough. Qayaano waa dhamati

no we are not gonna unite as long as haawiye are the way they are......
nothing will be solved...i mean first we waited for you for 16 years...
we had peace the only problem was haawiye,.....after the 16 years was over now we have something new and totally crazy to somali people.....called fake qabil courts............first they won and beat weak warlords and now blinded by greed and power...they want to take over the whole of somalia........do u really think puntland or somaliland is as easy as the warlords...then u got another thing coming.
if u want somalia to unite then stop this nonesense about islamic courts...and stop hiding under religion....and go and join the government elected by all somalis......if u dont then we will never have a graeter somalia........ so u see it's all upto your people..........somalia marba dhinac u waada....marna warlords marna sheikyaal......

am rooting for republic of puntland............Fock somalia it's over...our GREAT somalia is gone ..theives came and stole it and run away with it.

i came from the land where even fircoons used to call it. the land of god, ofcourse we can, the only thing we need is, self convidence, and unity, thats . history has proven that somalis are not easy to mess with, even when the western countries divided africa in to many pieces, even when they spread aids, and alot of disasters in to africa, who else than somalia could come out, and could get their acts together, even the british were suprised when they saw the proud ppl of somalia, standing up for their country, they couldnt really change our history, they sucdeed in to other countries, our grandfathers, and legends of somalia, always wanted to see unity, the only thing that can stop us is the tribalism between somalis. i dont worry now, cuss as i used to say if only the islamic republic of somalia, can stop tribalism, than we dont need no one, and somalia will be back on the map

lololololololo @ cos we are ur masters

You are right in a sense of the word, when it comes to savagery, torture and intimidation, you are the masters, however, when it comes to mental instigation, conquering brains and playing you to our tunes, we are the masters. You do the math and tell me which one matters

" On 27 June 1977, Djibouti became a sovereign nation after 95% of its population voted against rejoining Somalia".

and nothing has changed. as we the people of that great holly land have no desire to be associated with savages of the lowest kind.

savages whos national sport is looting, mutulating, raping and killing. savages who get a hard on by killing their own kinds.

savages that talk so much about unity, but wouldnt be able to get along with a death dumb and blind person.

savages who give a whole new meaning to the word "savagery".

savages that caused so much loses that are too deep for tears.

SO HELL NO! wouldnt piss in your mouth if your troat was on fire.

Cool

Hawiay people are sorted themselves out, we have chased away those useless warlords, we have brought peace in our lands.

Ok puntland and somaliland people are happy but what abt ogaden people and NFD somalis that are ruled by aliens. We wish to work with other regional states like puntland and somaliland to become one country again and help free ogaden and NFD somalis to join somalia again.

Hey Somaliman% theres nothing to answer u talk stupid, why u wana separate somalia even the mj elders said demselves that they want united strong somalia again and islam can help unite us.

Hey Mureedi u are not somali and ur people have no land no power, we don't even know where u people come from, listen up somalia only 4 ethinic somalis, so therefore u must except.
I must waste my time with u cos ur people are irrelevant within somali society.

Greater somalia can be achieved, just abt a matter abt all somalis uniting and telling ethiopia and kenya to give us bck our lands.

Hey biko u talk like an adoon ofcousre greater somalia can be achieved, wheres the will theres always the way.

Look at ethiopia there population is 70 million with over 30 languages and the they have 120 different people within their nation and they still united.

Somalia theres only one people and thats the somali people, so we have a better chance to forge a nation than ethiopia.
