Obama is too junior, and I think he was born outside the continental US, although I am not sure he was.

He may have to run against the VA Senator George Allen.

In George Allen's eyes, he's just another MACCAUCA

Mad Mac--And so what if he was born outside the 'continental US'??? He is an American, looks american, comes from Kansas city & whtat do we know--he is definitely intelligent- a rarity from this part of the continent! Laughing Laughing

Or maybe u are saying--One has to have the I.Q quotent of you & Bush in order to 'qualify'?? No wonder you love Bush so much-- u identify with him--completely. Do u wear Cowboy boots ---if i may ask? Confused Laughing Laughing Laughing

Now....back to the topic--- Very Happy

Obama as Next President? Well that is rather premature to determine right now. He is definitely attractive, intelligent, has a good charisma & he is mixed--white & black--which makes him sort of what America is in a sense-- a mixture of democratic hope. I am thinking he has a shot at it--if he wants to run as Vice president to Hilary Clinton. (Now this is what Mad Mac Fears right? Or should i say the fear of all Republicans? lol)

Indeed that is the essence of the audacity of hope! America is not ready of a non WASP period. Don't u guys beleive the hype about the melting pot democracy blah blah blab. In America, we have an oligarchy. Money talks & pedigree talks

Lol@@ Basra quote "which makes him sort of what America is in a sense-- a mixture of democratic hope".

Mac,

He was born in Hawaii in 1961. That is outside the continent, but still good to go.

Black president in America...please!

One of the reasons Al Gore lost the election was having a Jew running mate....

The main stream of America will never elect minority in the highest office of the world.

2008 is going to be a wild year.

At the moment, the fight looks like Hillarious versus McCain, but there are not many people comfortable with that.

John Kennedy was a feared minority (a Catholic!) when he was elected in 1962.

Depending on what happens between now and then, I think Obama could stand a chance. Of course I am prejudiced. He is the son of a PC volunteer.
