Any Fishermen or Hunters Here ?

Post by AbdiWahab252 »

Have you guys been watching the East vs. West Coast Shark Fishing Competition on the Outdoor Life Network ?

Teams on the East and West Coast compete by catching sharks. Its fascinating watching them fish for these massive creatures.

If you are angler, what fish do you go hunting for ? Whats the biggest you caught ?

If you hunt, what game do you like ?

Biggest fish: 82 pound sturgeon from the Sacramento delta.

Best fish: 18 pound, 42 inch brown trout from the Sanpitch river in Utah.

When I was a kid my grandfather owned land on the mountain and hosted an annual deer camp and hunt. It was a family and friends affair, just the men folk. The boys would go out low and drive the deer up to the men with guns at the top of the mountain. We usually filled our permits (10-20 deer) in the first hour of the season.

Where I live in the Oakland hills we frequently have wild turkeys and deer in our yard. I haven't hunted any yet, but it is tempting.

Grant awesome. The biggest fish I ever caught was a tuna. I never realized how big they are.

As for game, I once trapped a gazelle, Spekes Gazelle. It was extremely tasty.

Abdi,

Gazelle is a lot better tasting than either deer or sturgeon. Deer have a very "gamy" taste. We used deer only for jerky. The sturgeon I gave away. It tasted llike mud. Trout is good.
