Will the Wadaads invade Baidoa by force? The government seems to be either laying a milatary and political trap for them or just too weak to stand up to them.

Some of the actions and statements from the govt side seem to be so bizarre they make one think they might have a cunning agenda to somehow lure the Wadaads into some kind of a deadly trap; political and/or milatary.

Take the anouncement from Geddi few days ago. He said, as quoted by Hiiraan Online that " Wadaads are just all talk about fighting..they are all mouth".

Is this a sign of a man luring a naive enemy into an early commitment or a man who is so desperate that he no longer cares? And then there is the Bur Hakaba weirdness. No town has probably ever changed hands so many times without a serious fight since the Hawiyes discovered guns in the 90s and fought over Mogadishu' suburbs.

According to Reuters and AFP, the Wadaads are massing just 18 miles away from Baidoa. They already `recaptured' Bur Hakaba. So will they invade? And if they do what then for the Yusuf/Geddi govt? Indeed what for Somalia?

I think one of the reasons they waked out of the talks in Sudan is because they're itching to invade Baidoa...but some of them are urging caution since they know(or suspect) that Ethiopian forces will intervene.

He said the powerful movement, which has refused to meet the government delegation at the talks in Sudan unless the Ethiopians are withdrawn, had a moral obligation to fight.

"God willing, within this week we will get the Ethiopians out of our country," Ahmed said. "We are obliged by Allah to defend ourselves. They invaded us, so we have take them out."

He said his fighters had been ordered to treat any prisoners well, but that their enemies had no choice but to give up.

"It is against our faith to kill prisoners," he said. "We have surrounded Baidoa. There's no way out for the Ethiopians except surrender, or else their copses will litter everywhere."

Not too soon, I think Islamic Courts will be moving to Gedo region with the help of Sado wadaado since Meeraaxaans are somehow joining the Courts in Kismaayo. After Gedo, the government and Ethiopian soldiers would have no other option but to abandon Baydhabo. However, it would not be easy for Courts to move in to Gedo as long as there are rumors against Courts about killing injured patients in Bu'aale hospital, which I donÂ’t believe such things have happened in there.

PS: if they got support from Digil mirifle, especially, Saran soor and Xaabsade, there would be a very good chance for Courts to capture baydhabo.

Lets hope that side wins. But I am not hopeful. I watched a talk by the guy now representing the Wadaads in Khartoum, and lets just say `caution' didnt come to mind. The man is an award-winning super-class idiot. And it is not his religious views - he is just an absolute moron of the laughing clownish kind.

However, I donÂ’t know how much more of it Abu Mansoor can take. Anything that s going to happen in Baidoa has to be from the D&M and the UIC is happy to support them. But they have to unite first. Saransoor has already said he doesnÂ’t recognise the TFG and so it shouldnÂ’t be too long now. It will be down to Shariif Xassn now.

@LOL I had an amazing time back home walle. A real eye opener. Somaliland was everything i expected and more...Ethiopia was beautiful went through Lailaba which is apapratly one of the 7 wonders of the world or was it 12th...not to sure lol. But i went to Berbera,Hargeisa,Burco(of course lol), Djbouti,Sheikh and a couple of tuulos. Couldnt go to the miiyi, the drought really restricted my travels. Also popped into Nairobi, but not for too long. All in all...amazing time. Im starting some new intiatives for kids inshAllah to get them going back home...because kids seem alil too disenchanted with the whole idea of returning back home, so that'll be fun .

But I think it's absolutely foolish how the ICU is instigating a war with Ethiopia when they are so dividied.

Unity among the ranks is one of the most fundamental prerequisites before waging a war.

Was it you that commented on the sign in front of the Somaliland Parliament which said : "no guns..."?

Be real?How real im i not being?

My travels were amazing. And by that i mean i seen some things that are offensive to the eyes and viceversa. Dont get me wrong, its wasnt a rosy journey,butit was certainly one never to forget. Hargeisa were i spent most of my time at was going through a culture crisis,i cant really put into words, its something u have to see for urslef to really judge it. There is also a major culture clash if your look at burco and hargeisa and compare the 2. I noticed burco was becoming more and more 'badow' by the years and hargeisa was the new 'magal'...and is called 'Europe' by many from its neighbouring cities. I seen a neglect in the private sector in Burco,all interest are pumped into hargisa which is fustrating.
Ethiopia has a rich heritage and i initially went their with the NGO i was working with at the time so we never got the chance to go up north other than to visit Axum and historical sites like that. Addis Ababa was Addis Ababa nothing 'special'...but whati did notice was the large influx of migrants from neighbouring countries and one of translators was telling us how he seen his city being invaded and losing its culture. which was interesting to hear.

Galol...did u attend the celebration of black history month on Somali Week in London? There was a conference not long ago disscussin the state of somali's in britian and had invitied somali-businessmen and respected members of the somali community to attend? I missed it.Just wondering how it went?

Gedo-brother, what makes you think they are divided? well, in a sense, you are correct if you mean, let' us unite Gedo and Jubaland region and then attack baydhabo. But there is no division between them at the moment, i mean you dont hear them contradicting one another as Government officials do.
