TFG Speaker Flees to Xamar Talks (Striking Secret Deal)
The greedy Sharif Xasan, Speaker of Parliment is going to Mogadishu. He is trying to save his neck and like in Eelay Custom collaborating with the future victor. he is striking a deal to save his neck by creating the deal to help put the finishing touch on the destruction of the TFG.
I hope the UIC throw him into the Dungeon because he helped pass the motion to bring IGAD troops into Somalia. During the vote, NON MPs (passer bys were paid to enter the building and to vote) voted by a show of hands just as President's convoy was bombed.
If the UIC want any credibility, they should throw him into the dungeon.
Speaker to try and avert war with Islamists
Friday, November 03, 2006
NAIROBI (AFP) - The speaker of Somalia's parliament said on Friday that he would travel to Mogadishu at the weekend in an attempt to avert looming war between the country's powerful Islamist movement and weak government.
Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden said he would meet Islamist officials in the capital on Sunday to attempt to broker an agreement following the collapse this week of peace talks in Sudan and soaring fears of all-out conflict.
"The unfortunate event of the inconclusive Khartoum meeting... caused serious concern for the parliament, the people of Somalia and I am sure for the international community," he told a news conference in the Kenyan capital.
newsinisideAs the two sides girded for battle outside the government seat of Baidoa, test firing rockets and artillery for a third straight day, Aden said he believed there was a real risk of civil war that could engulf the region.
"Therefore, I feel obliged as the speaker of the Somali parliament to take necessary action to salvage the intra-Somali dialogue," he said.
"For this purpose, I intend to lead a parliamentary delegation to Mogadishu to meet the (Islamist) leadership and seek their cooperation to avoid war and bloodshed," Aden said.
He said the mission had not been authorised by the government but was a responsible initiative that would also explore with the Islamists ways to promote dialogue inside Somalia.
Before Wednesday's failure of negotiations, two previous rounds of Arab League-mediated talks in Sudan had produced interim accords that both sides have accused the other of violating.
The third round failed to get started when the Islamists demanded the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops allegedly in Somalia to protect the government as a condition to meet with the administration's delegation.
Ethiopia denies it has thousands of soldiers in Somalia but acknowledges sending military advisers to help the weak interim government deal with the "jihadists," whose rise some liken to that of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
On Thursday Addis Ababa said that the Islamists, who have called for a holy war against Ethiopia, "were making conflict inevitable."
The deteriorating situation has fuelled fears of a regional conflict in the Horn of Africa, possibly drawing in Ethiopia and its arch-foe neighbour Eritrea.

Abdi, war ninyahow what is your problem?
Why do you gotta rubbish everything the UIC do? It is a good thing the speaker of the parliament is going there. It is nothing new, they have been saying he is coming for many days and weeks now. He already met with Sheikh Shariif I think twice, it is not surprising that the Shariif is against his people being occupied by Ethiopian troops. The whole of the Raxanweyn clan is against what the puppets in Baidoa are doing. The MPs are all welcome to stay in Xamar and since a large contingent of the parliament is there, there is no reason why the speaker canÂ’t be there.
The idiots and puppets can twist it however they like. But the Raxanweyn people are not going to support what the puppets are doing and neither is any other Somali clan.

Eyes: The Raxawein remember what your Cayr people before they discover Dahir Awey's Islam did to them. Don't forget that.
The Corrupt Sharif Xasan is attempting to retain relevance and seeking a new position should the TFG collapse. He was supportive of the IGAD troops because he allowed the "illegal" vote to occur and worst of all to have NON MPS vote.
Eyes: Don't get testy babe. Remember, healthy opposition is what keeps tyrants in check.

Abdi, reer Baido and reer Gedo are the experts on what Ethiopian troops do to the locals. DonÂ’t expect clanism to cloud the judgement of the Raxanweyn. Saransoor and Abu Mansoor are ready to attack. It is down to the Shariif to give the final OK and the UIC are going to support their brothers in liberating Baidoa.
The Shariif has a lot of respect in the capital. The same can be said for a few other MPs it doesnÂ’t matter if he remains in Nairobi or goes to his capital. He doesnÂ’t have to do anything to be considered for a post in the future government.

Abdi, it doesnÂ’t matter what their situation is they just have to say the word, join the UIC and they will get the UIC reinforcement. There is enough trained forces to tackle the problem but they need to be in there as well to avoid it being misconstrued.
Now cut the crap, why are you hating on the UIC?
I'll be back later

AW
For the record the Sharif is going to Xamar to calm things down...but unofficially he is being sent by Geedi and A.Yusuf to give Aweis and Co. an ultimatum. Its either an all out war between ICU and TFG with Eritrea and Ethiopia in the driving seat or a reconciliatory and poewr sharing peace deal...how shaky it may be.
Eyes,
Even you... deep in your heart dont belive that attacking Baidoa is tanatamount to a liberation...so save us the false and new found patriotism you are projecting the ICU have suddenly developed in the last few months.
