"okay, we are refugees and we dont belong" here dat is not true if your a$$ lived here in America for more than 5years. Some of da somalis have lived in America for than 10years, and still act or look like they are still refugees. Dat is really unfortunate coz we are missing out the 'american dream'. If u just pay attention the other refugees who come to this country, they are sort different than us. When they come here they automatically adopt, develop and produce results dat are shockin to us sometimes, and u will ask how they do it. It is simple. They tell themselves dat this country (US) atleast for the foreseable future is gonna be their country so they make da most out of it, and they dont live like in eey kujiraa safar. Anaga from the day we come here, we are saying and lying to ourselves by saying, "we gonna go back" which is not true. For example, ma uncle lived here in da states for 17years dat is right 17years and he still doing wat he used to do 16years ago, and living da same conditon he lived 16years ago. He doesn't own a house, and he doesn't have a degree, all this time he was living as he was transit to America. And the worst part, he is not going anywhere still living here. Marka, walaahi we are becoming the 'failed community' dat gaalda kahadasho. Do u know it is an honour to be living in the United States to some ppl around the globe. Anaga we have da opportunity but we are failing to seize it. I believe if we are accept the fact dat we are in this for da long run, and get some education, we can do watever. But da problem is we some bullsh!t in our minds dat is telling u are Safar dont invest too much into this country (US).

If we somalis, we need to accept dat this country is gonna be our country, coz we are not going anywhere so there is no reason to live like in aanahay safar.

So ma Q to u is: Are u planning to make this country yours, and gonna quit your nomadic practices??
