I thought I heard they could not broadcast till after November for technical reasons. Yeah right like Elections perhaps?

It should be interesting I think, actually kind of looking forward to it.

[comment buried, show commenthide comment] I hope they translate word-for-word the Arabic Al-Jazeera for all the world to hear. My gut tells me it will be like Yasser Arafat--incite in Arabic, make nicey nice in English.

[comment buried, show commenthide comment] It'll probably be more like how CNN has a perceptible pro-American spin, and CNN International less so. Obviously they are targeting a different market, otherwise why have it in English?

the above is from a diffren't board. i agree with the second guy.

al jazeerah is owned by the qatari royal family. it is the family, even when saudis refused george bush to launch his iraqi invassion from saudi american bases, he gave george bush a base in Qatar to launch his iraqi invassion. they criticize every arab regime except the qatari regime. like ossama, it is an american creation.

what do you like about them eyes or Demure?

It gives you a much bigger view of the world. One minute you are watching the latest in Afghanistan next thing you are looking at Venezuela and Tonga – I mean, I thought I knew every country and capital in the world until I heard something about Tonga on AlJazeera. I like the fact that they got so many well known reporters pouched from BBC and CNN as well as other broadcasters. I like it Smile I especially like their other programmes like witness presented by Rage Omaar and also 48…I never thought Syria was that beautiful. Right now I’m considering going to Damascus instead of Marrakech. I also like the women’s programme, can’t remember what it was called. Hoping to see more of it…

It may however lose its controversial charm since the reporters are all too objective.

Gurey, I felt like such an American. For once I didnÂ’t know what the hell the news reader was going on about. ItÂ’s an interesting country, now that IÂ’ve read a bit on it.

I wouldnÂ’t be caught dead in the land of the ex-cons. Laughing
