“Today, around 20 percent of the eastern African mitochondrial lineages belong to haplogroup M1, and its distribution spans the Rea Sea. It constitutes most of the Mediterranean haplogroup M individuals, and around seven percent of all the lineages of the Nile Valley.”
...Interestingly, the 20 percent mitochondrial lineage found in east Africa made their grand entrance to the African landscape from two sides, Egypt across Saudi Arabia and Somalia across Yemen...
...And to my amazement, if you follow the arrow from Yemen to Somalia it falls right on top of Maydh, Sanaag, where according to my elders the great Daarood (Abdirahman) made his grand entrance to the Somali arena
