IS ETHIOPIAN SUPPORT WEAKENING THE BAIDOA GOVT?

Ethiopia makes no bones about supporting the Govt in Baidoa. Rationally we can all understand the motives and they are not sinister. The govt is secular and has a figleaf of legitimacy chosen as it is through talks by self-appointed thugs, warlords, malaaqs, intellectuals, war criminals, thieves, hangers on and tribal grassroots leaders. In other words a cross section of the Wallaweyn population with the exception of the weak, the ethnic minorities and the women. But at least it was CHOSEN. It did not come through the barrel of the gun.
The Wadaads by contrast not only harbour elements of all above unsavoury characters but they also won power through sheer violence. thus they are more illigitimate than the govt.
But the Ethiopian suport of the govt may actually be eroding its legitimacy in the eyes of most ordinary Somalis including those who dislike the Wadaads. The Wadaads; although no Einsteins in Turbans; still seem to have cottoned on to this. They KNOW that Somalis have visceral dislike for Ethiopian interference in their affairs let alone invading their miserable patch of cameldung country.
That is why the Wadaads so smartly portray their campaign against the govt and the warlords as a war against Ethiopia.
So is Ethiopia inadvertently weakening the govt by supporting it the same way CIA support weakened the Warlords?
