Nuclear Mid-East
Now all the gulf Arabs want Nuclear power. Are they afraid of Iran more than Isreal??
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) -- Gulf Arab countries want to acquire nuclear energy capability and have ordered a study on a possible joint atomic program, a statement read on Sunday at the close of a two-day Gulf Cooperation Council summit said.
"The countries of the region have the right to nuclear energy technology for peaceful purposes," said Abdul-Rahman al-Attiya, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The statement comes amid concerns over Iran's nuclear ambitions and suspicions that Israel has nuclear weapons.
The statement called on Iran to cooperate with the international community over its nuclear energy program, which Western countries led by the United States suspect is aimed at acquiring atomic weapons. Tehran says the program is peaceful.

Who knows, maybe it's a smart move on the Arabs.
If they express "concern" about Iran becoming a nuclear power, the West is more likely to assist them in building nuclear capabilities b/c.
But then again, the West would probably never help Arabs build nuclear capabilties even if it meant their possible annihiliation.

GB,
But this could also mean that the US and Isreal will get tougher on Iran. So basically they are doing some calculated provocation to see how the US would react to this.......??
Ashlee,
Calling all Arabs sissies is just lame. After all there is a reason why God chose Arabs and an Arab prophet to carry his final message to humans.
But they do have bad...very bad leaders who are puppets to you know who...and those leaders would do anything to hang on to their power at the expense of their nations....just look at Somalia which only claims to be of Arab decent.

^ SOMALIS ARE a corrupt bunch of self hating freaks. But thats besides the point.
Egypt Jordan Syria and who else was it lebanon? fought israel and there tiny state and got humbled in 6 days.
Don't compare somalis a nation of 1/6 to 1/7 of ethiopia who humbled them and in turn caused 10+ thousand CASTRO CUBAN MERCENARIES and a thousand of russias top generals and military strategist
We would have finished the yahuud in three days and not lose in 6

I wasn't implying anything. I thought I was being perfectly clear. The Arabs are barbarians who are totally irresponsible in everything they do.
I can hear the conversation now:
Foreign nuclear technician / advisor: "Core reactor temperatures are a little high. We need to make some adjustments here."
Arab technicians: "It is time for prayer, and then lunch. We'll get to it afterward."
Foreign technician: "We don't have that much time. Core reactor temperatures are rising now. This is serious and we need to address it now."
Arab technicians: "Look, if Allah wants the reactor to melt down, it's going to melt down no matter what we do. And if he wants it to work, it's going to be fine, no matter what we do."
Foreign Technician: "God is not going to maintain your reactor for you!"
Arab technicians: "Are you saying that Allah can not maintain a nuclear facility? There is nothing Allah can not do. What happens is what he wills."
You can see how this scenerio might end badly.

Those are not Islamic manners, maybe bad personal or cultural manners, but not Islamic. The Prophet commanded Muslims to work hard and strive @ everything they do. Not be lazy:
"Allah commands excellence in everything........"
When Omar ibn al Khattab saw that there were people sitting in the mosque not doing any work and 'relying on Allah' he scolded them and said (roughly):
"You know very well that the sky does not rain gold or silver, and that Allah sustains you all by each other."
Another time he saw ppl not working saying we are "Mutawakiluun" (those who trust in Allah) and he said, no you are "Muta'aakiluun" (those who seek to be fed by others).
