Dear Abdi ADVICE COLUMN

The first letter comes from Massachusetts:

Dear Abdi,

I am a 29yr old Somali female from Charlestown, Massachusetts. My current baby daddy, Luugoyo Cabbas, I suspect is cheating on me. His behavior has changed. Luugoyo has started to go the gym and exercising a lot. Just the other day, I found a bottle of Rogaine in the bathroom medicine cabinet. He has started to dress in Abercombie and Fitch instead of the Marshall's & AJ Wright. Luugoyo has also started to work late night shifts in his cab.

Luugoyo was never concerned with his appearance since I have known him and never worked the night shifts due to fear of crime. I suspect he is cheating on me yet I have been unable to catch him in the act.
Things have never been the same since he found out that I faked the pregnancy to get him to marry me.

What should I do ?

Lonely in Boston,

B.

Dear Lonely in Boston B.,

I do not believe you should feel concerned. Your baby daddy is not cheating on you. A man can decide to turn over a new leaf and become concerned about his appearance without necessarily cheating. My advice to you is to stop being paranoid and to appreciate the new changes your baby daddy has made.

It was unfair of you to pull the "I am pregnant trick." to coerce him into marrying you. However, let sleeping dogs lie and don't let your relationship fall victim to your paranoia.

Sincerely,

Abdi.

Dear Abdi,

I think Luggoyo is cheating on me. I'm pretty lost right now. We have been seeing each other for about 10 months now. He is my world/heart. But I think he is still in love with his ex, because the other day I found a 2 year old pictures of his ex in his wallet. Every time he goes to work I automatically assume he is with her, I don't know what to do. Suspicious and mistrust is ruining/killing our relationship. I have accused him of cheating many times, but he keeps insisting that I'm simply imaging things and he dismisses my claims like they are nothing. I have shown him how much I love him, in every way possible, but I don't think is working. Now I decided to give him time, but I'm afraid I'm just gonna lose him.

Any advice?

Dear Nabeela,

The links between a man and the mother of his children is special. A man will always have a special place in his heart for her. I urge you to give Luugoyo some time to accept that he can no longer be with her.

In the meantime, try to impress Luugoyo. Draw his attention to you by doing what he likes. Be creative. Smile Avoid nagging him as it will not be productive.

I hope that this has been helpful advice for you.

Sincerely

Dr. Abdi

Holy crab,

Is this the Sir-Luggoyo scrutinizing thread?

Nabz,

You have nothing to worry about my love, the picture you saw in my wallet is that of my late Grandmother Cosob (May she rest in peace) and the ex you are abrehensive about is actually locked up in the Sheriff's correctional facility after she tried to murder me in a dark alley by senidng her two Moryaan brothers (one looked like AW) to get rid of me.

After several failed attempts to lure me and win me back, she finally decided to send me to my creator, but thank God, a police patrol car was nearby when the two said Moryaans cornered me.

Now, Batulo and her two brothers will never bother us again, I promise.

Dear Basra,

It is not healthy to hate any group of humans but look further into your self for sources of this hate. Did a Hawiye man or men break your heart ? Did you fall victim to the "once you go Hawiye, you never go back" ?

Sincerely

Abdi

Thank you for your help. Your advice made me look into myself & ask myself why i hate Hawiya. The answer was--they are ugly-- & since i was a child--i always hated ugly people. Thanks for your time. Rolling Eyes

Dear Abdi

There's this REEEAL horny chick named Basra who's obsessed with moi. I wanna hook up with her, but i'm scared, because I get the impression that if we get it on, she'll become obsessed and begin stalking me. Should I just give her a break and take my chances? Whatta YOU think ?? She IS hungry after all, and I get the feeling she'd be a REEEAL beast in bed.

Dear michael_ital

Basra is a regular contributing letter writer of my column, i find her very sweet but also disturbing. If properly diagnosed, i would say she is like all geniuses-crazy.The best way to solve your problem is-- leave her alone. Dont bring up any sexual inuendo in her presence & always compliment her with--a posh taste of compliments.None of those Lil kim lingos that ghetofabulous queens like Nabeela would find romantic.Basra is a diamond among emerald diamond.Be strictly professional to her--none of those sex implying horny dog business & she will leave you alone.

PS: Basra is married. Applause! Applause. Very Happy
