One government parliamentarian in Baidoa said he feared it will fall to the Islamic group. Ethiopian tanks rolled to the battlefront on Friday as Somali Islamists and pro-government troops pounded each other with artillery and rockets in a fourth day of clashes edging closer to all-out war.

The Islamists said they would send ground troops to attack en masse on Saturday, as opposed to fighting from a distance with heavy weapons as they have been doing so far.

"Our troops have not started to attack. From tomorrow the attack will start," Islamist deputy spokesman Ibrahim Shukri abu seynab told a news conference.

Witnesses near the fighting on two fronts near the government's encircled stronghold of Baidoa said they heard the rumble of armor before dawn.

"I was awakened this morning by heavy sounds of tanks. I woke up and saw seven Ethiopian tanks heading toward Daynunay," Baidoa resident Abdullahi Ali told Reuters.

hezbollah had strong bunkers that it also could protect them from the boms that were dropped on them.they were better organised trained and were waiting for that day. unlike the courts hezbollah had a anti-tank missles and even a russian-built surface-to-air missles including shahabs.and besides hezbollah had the same uniform as the idf you know to confuse them. so you cant compare hezbollah with the courts the courts and tigre troops alongside the tfg are fighting on a open field that makes it hard for the courts to defend them selfs from the air strikes and tank strike. and plus the courts cant fight on a guirella warfare. lets we all hope for the best
