And no. this is not the regular Radio Laascaanood. That station is diehard Harti/Daarood/Puntland/Somaliweyn. And a thorn in the side of Smellyland.

Radio Laascaanood can be heard in Hargeysa. But Radio Hargeysa cant be heard in Laascaanood.


This is a pirate FM station set up by the Wahaabi brigade of Laascaanood(they are numerous and rich). They are remnants of the Itixaad who settled in Laascaanood after it was formally disbanded in Boosaaso.

If you say things like `hatred' the kids here might actually believe that chit. The Northners simply are incapable of hating each other. You see I have I theory on the matter. Hatred of that social, communal kind takes civility and urbanisation. And since neither never took hold in the North, people simply never actually hated each other. Part of the intractability of the Southern civil war was simply because large sections of the society there were settled, urban and civilised.
